About this activity
This amazing tour starts at a conveniently located ranch in the heart of Bavaro. Once you arrive, a guide will go over the safety and operation of the vehicles. You will be driving your own automatic “caravan-style” buggy following the tour guide who will lead the group.
The "Flintstones Buggy Trail" has a length of 10 kilometers and takes you through a variety of vegetation and rocky, hill-formations. The trail leads straight through the countryside where you can see donkeys, cows, horses, sheep and pigs!
After about 25 minutes of driving you'll arrive at your first stop - a typical Dominican house and the local comado (a small grocery store) where you will have the opportunity to taste some real Dominican coffee and cocoa. Immerse yourself into the Dominican culture as you join locals from the countryside doing their daily shopping.
Next, continue off-road on your buggy and enjoy breathtaking views. You'll travel past colorful houses and across the amazing landscape of banana plantations and farmland. Your next stop is at the “Cave of Fantasy”!
Walk almost to the end of the cave, through magnificent and huge illuminated stalactites and stalagmites. You'll learn about the legend of the “Hidden Princess” and all of her secrets! This is not a public cave so it is accessible only to your tour.
After exploring "Fantasy Cave", you will go up the stairs to Bedrock City! Bedrock City is another group of caves that are located above the large cave, a rare combination and therefore, very unique! Why the name Bedrock City? Well, here you see the villa of Fred Flintstone, the garage with the Flintstone Mobile and much more.
After around 35 minutes spent inside the cave it will be time to go back to the Bavaro ranch. Here the guests will have the opportunity to buy the pictures from the excursion and other souvenirs or enjoy a Dominican-flavored drinks at the bar.

This was extremely enjoyable for the whole family. Loads of fun and the cave tour (included) was wonderful to see. Only issue was that we ran our buggy so hard that it died three times and delayed us 5-10 minutes each time. We had a blast and highly recommend t jk is excursions. Just make sure your buggy is functioning well before heading out into the countryside.
The owner and guides were great. Stopping at the traditional house was fun and informative. The caves are beautiful. Now, I know this company is named Flinstones, the buggies and meeting place are themed accordingly but I wish they did not have the decorations inside the cave. It takes from the natural beauty of it.
Excellent! So much FUN! I have nothing to say because my adventure was amazing. Please wear goggles!
Best time ever. All of us enjoyed it from my 70 yr old mother to our kids varying from 25, 21, 18, and 12. The people that work there were amazing.
Super fun, great staff
What a fun experience for the family! Four of us fit very comfortably in the dune buggy. The caves were amazing, and the tour guides were great. I have to give a huge shout out to Ivanhoe and Victor. My family got sick, and we needed to change the date of our reservation at the last minute. They were so accommodating and kind. They didnt charge me any cancellation fee and didnt give me any hassle whatsoever. I cant recommend this trip highly enough. It was such a fun day and a great way to see another side of the Dominican republic.
