About this activity
Ladies and gentlemen, start your engines! It's time to rip up the Dominican off road and get a bit muddy!
From a ranch in Macao, you will go tearing through the remote farmland of northern Punta Cana, passing palm trees and tobacco plantations with the Oriental Mountain Range deep in the background. These narrow, secluded country roads offer a safe haven for deep pools of mud that you'll go barging through again and again. At first, you may try and avoid the mud, but soon you'll give into the filth. This excursion is not for the dainty.
The first stop is at a quaint country ranch for an introduction to the local produce like cocoa, coffee, tobacco and Mamajuana (a Dominican aphrodisiac elixir) and green tea leaves. Back into the rocky off-road, among panoramic views of endless farmland and distant mountains, the excursion leads you to a picturesque cave with a deep natural swimming hole. Jump in, cool off and wash off in these refreshing underground waters.
The longest stretch of the drive also has the largest contrast. From the hidden countryside cave, you will retrace the muddy path, and then some, to the shores of the photogenic Macao Beach, one of the last ‘resort free’ coastal stretches of Punta Cana. Here, you'll have time to enjoy this idealistic Caribbean Beach with rows of palm trees and azure waters.

Worst trip ever what a waste of money !!! I have done 8 buggy trips in different places. Most of the trip was by paved road to beach. In a line of about 30 buggies with four or five workers to make sure you stay in line and do about 10 to 15 mph . When you get to the beach your met by locals trying to sell you things. Don't take a pic. with any animals as soon as you let them put it on you they want 5 to 10 dollars. The workers will say I will take a pic. for you then when you get back will try to sell it to you. after you are done at the beach you go back the same way and down the same dirt road you came from you pass the place and you think now I'm going to have fun WRONG !!! you have to stay in line and the workers go ahead and block all of the mud puddles and anything that looked like fun and take you to the cave but before you go to the cave you sit and they try and sell you more junk for 20 mins. then you get to go to the cave and swim for 5 to 10 mins. Then back down the same dirt road with workers blocking puddles. Maybe if you have kids under 10 they may have fun. There is a much better trip it starts off road and stays off road just look for it. form the stone age with Fred
