Middle Earth Flights - Lord Of The Rings & Glacier Explorer
1h10
About this activity
This tour includes film references to Sir Peter Jackson's Lord Of the Rings Trilogy. Fly through the land where many parts of the Lord of the Rings trilogy were filmed. There's also a chance to fly with experienced pilot Alfie Speight, the principle filming pilot for the film series. Fly along the Shotover River to the scene where Arwen turns to face the Nazgul at the Ford of Bruinen. Fly over the mountain range from the opening scene of The Two Towers on the way to landing on a glacier alongside the Misty Mountains and get a sense of what it might be like to cross The Redhorn Pass. Head across to Glenorchy via the Dart Valley and Mt Earnslaw to see the natural features you may better recognize as Isengard, Amon Hen and Lothlorien. Experience a second landing among one of these scenes to truly feel immersed in Middle-earth. The away times (flight durations) specified in the flight tour itineraries are approximate and can be subject to weather conditions. On occasion, flight paths and landing locations may change at the pilot’s discretion. We will always keep you informed of any changes to the published information. Each flight requires a minimum of 4 passengers. Passengers may be combined to run a flight session.
