Meet at a shop in central Queenstown and shuttle to the rafting base to kick off this family-friendly adventure through Skippers Canyon. The scenic drive boasts astounding views of the area, which is jam-packed with history and gold-mining relics. Your guide will enthrall you with tales from the region's fascinating past.

Once you're provided with specialized rafting gear to keep warm and safe, take to the water at a put-in point near a pipeline built in 1864. You may recognize the surrounding landscape of the 'Ford of Bruinen' from The Lord of the Rings.

The 1- to 1.5-hour trip takes you floating down a gentle grade of mild Class I and II rapids, including time for a swim or rock-jump into the Shotover River. Back on shore, you'll return to central Queenstown where your half-day tour concludes.

Great experience for the whole family. We went with 3 girls age 10, 8 and 5. Everyone loved the experience and I think it's just th right length for the kids. All the guides were friendly and experienced - they are also great in interacting with the little ones.
