The bread is very good. We had a really lovely tour guide and group for the morning portion of the tour, but since you get dropped off at the spa in the middle of it, you get picked up by a different group. The guide and the group for the afternoon portion were fine, though not as engaging. It might have been better to do the Golden Circle and the Geothermal Spa separate from each other.
This tour was amazing!
Fantastic trip .
Booked this trip a couple of days before we headed off to Iceland. We soon found out that it's cheaper to book before you go rather than wait until you arrive in Iceland and then book. We were really lucky as the weather was lovely the day we went on our tour. Although it's dark until 11am it didn't spoil the trip at all. We were picked up from our hotel by shuttle bus and transferred to a coach at the bus station downtown. Our tour guide and driver were great and we even got a song from our driver at the end of the day. We stopped off at a wool shop as it was still dark and we thought the prices there were good. Even if you don't buy anything, it's still good to have a look around. We then headed off for the National Park which was awesome and the sun was just rising and we got some amazing photos. After this we headed off to Strokkur geyser and had lunch at the restaurant there. The soup and bread was lovely. Burger and chips are on offer but we didn't think they were that nice. The geyser area is great for photo shots although it was really windy and freezing cold so we didn't stay there too long. After this we headed off to Gulfoss waterfall which was amazing. We spent about 45 minutes there which was ample time to take photos. There is a nice gift shop which is a little expensive but which was great to have a look around and keep warm. Our final stop was the Fontana spa and we were really glad we went for this option as it was the highlight of the trip. The spa pools were lovely and hot and so relaxing. We were glad they are not that big so it makes for a nice experience not too crowded. You could see right across the lake and we had such gorgeous weather it really made it special. The hot bread and butter was scrumptious. As it was my husband's birthday we treated ourselves to 2 slices of gateaux which was delicious. All in all we had a fantastic day, met some lovely people and would recommend our tour guide and driver highly. Good value for money.
