Golden Circle Express Tour Including Optional Blue Lagoon Admission from Reykjavik
The Golden Circle Express is ideal for those with a little less time, as in just 7.5-hours you'll see the famous erupting geyser and hot springs, experience the spectacular Gullfoss Waterfall and walk in the footsteps of Vikings through the lava canyon where the American and Eurasian continents have dramatically pulled apart in Þingvellir (Thingvellir) National Park.
Step on board a comfortable new coach, equipped with WiFi-connected computer tablets in each seat. On the tablets you can use the GPS Sensitive Audio Guide, available in 10 languages. There is also a local guide on board, who will happily answer any questions you might have about Iceland. In each seat you will also find a USB Charger, should you need to top up your phone or camera battery along the way.
The first stop is in Þingvellir National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site listing and the founding place of the oldest existing parliament in the world. This is also where the huge tectonic plates of America and Eurasia drift a part and the rift valley is there before your eyes on the shores of Iceland’s biggest lake.
The next stop is at Geysir Hot Springs, the home of the original geyser and Iceland’s most famous natural attraction. Here the ground shakes and steaming hot water erupts magnificently into the sky from the famous Strokkur Geyser every few minutes.
Our final stop is at Gullfoss Waterfall, where you can go for an easy walk down to the edge of the waterfall, an unforgettable sight to behold. Here the powerful glacial river flows down 32 meters on two levels and into a narrow canyon with a thunderous roar.
We will make a minimum 30 minute stop at Geysir Hot Springs, Gullfoss Waterfall and Þingvellir National Park. In Geysir & Gullfoss there are shops where you can buy food and drinks.
If you only have time to do one tour in Iceland, then this should be the one.

Our guide and driver were nice and did a good job. However I wouldn't recommend this tour as yes you get taken to the places they mention but you did really get to see the Tectonic plates - they just pointed that one side was the Eurasian tectonic plate and the other was North American tectonic plate. We were not taken to where you can see them in the water - in the far distance you could see the ones snorkeling. Geysir Geothermal area was interesting. It just takes so long to get around the 3 attractions. I think the advertising of Iceland just doesn't live up to expectations. Maybe if we had not toured Norway before Iceland we may have felt different.
Kudos to Viator for providing me with a great experience in Iceland. I learned a lot with the narrations of the tour guide, Tom. The driver was a pleasant guy, too. The only downside is the time constraint...but I managed to handle it well because I am athletic and can move fast to see the attractions.
Super day of sights. Great mix of driving and walking. Hit top sights on Golden Circle. Tour guide Wally was terrific. The audio guide was very useful and informative. Bus was clean and comfortable. Food stops at sights were nice. Loved having Wally’s input on scenery including waterfalls, Thingvellir, geyser, countryside and overall Iceland info.
This was a great experience and our tour guide was great. His passion for his country was clear. A trip not to missed in my opinion
Brilliant day, amazing sights, great guide. Tablet explaining things as we went along kept my 7 year happy.
A great experience. A GOOD and pleasant guide. I will highly recommend it to my friends. A very special experience for children.
It is a very comprehensive tour. I would suggest bringing your lunch and headsets. Food is very expensive in Iceland. If I did this tour agin, I would add the glacier tour.
Lovely landscapes and pleasant company!
