Stop At: Hveragerði Public Park, Hveragerði, Iceland

The first stop of the day is the town Hveragerði, where we have a short restroom stop. Hveragerði is about 45 min drive from Reykjavik. There are restrooms, bakery and an exhibition about earth quakes. This is just a short stop on our way to the Golden Circle.

Stop At: Faxi (Vatnsleysufoss) Waterfall, Tungufljót River, Skalholt Iceland

Faxi is sometimes called the little brother of Gullfoss, it is a small but beautiful waterfall in the neighbourhood. There are many ways to see the waterfall, you can see it from above and also walk all the way down.

Stop At: Gullfoss, White River, Blaskogabyggd 801 Iceland

Gullfoss, is one of the most famous waterfalls in Iceland. It is powerful and big. The river, Hvítá, comes from the glacier Langjökull, which is the second biggest glacier on the island. There are many ways to see the waterfall, if you are in the mood you can walk down to the waterfall and feel the power in person.

Stop At: Geysir, Haukadalur Iceland

The hot spring Geysir in Iceland is one of the most famous hot spring in the world. The hot spring Strokkur erupts aprox. every 5 minutes. Here we have time to walk around the area and this is also our lunch stop. In the area are many restaurants.

Stop At: Thingvellir National Park, Thingvellir Iceland

Þingvellir is the heart of Iceland, some Icelanders say. This is the place where Icelanders became a nation back in the day, the first parliament in the world was established there in the year 930. The location is also interesting, because here we do have the tectonic plates - the american plate and eurasian plate pulling apart 2 cm every year. To walk in the rift valley is an amazing felling. And yes, for those who like Game of Thrones, few scenes were shot there!
