Guide was great. shared a lot of interesting facts about Iceland. Unfortunately we did not see any lights there was too much cloud cover, but they tried real hard to get us to a place where it was clear enough to see them.
We were lucky to see the Northern Lights albeit not as vivid as the pictures you tend to see. The tour guide was friendly and entertaining. It was a really nice bonus to get Hot Chocolate and Icelandic style doughnuts on this incredibly cold and windy night. Wrap up warm, no one will ever prepare you for the cold during the winter months.
The first night was not a success but we were given a second booking free of charge. Glad I saw the northern lights on my 2nd night of chasing it!
We were very lucky to have a fantastic night viewing the northern lights. However, the places we stopped still had lots of light pollution. Big flood lights in the field etc. This really impacts the view by the naked eye - a lot of people were very disappointed. Please find other spots with not spotlights etc .... I had my camera and researched how to take great photos - so I absolutely loved it . The tour could give these tips as part of the booking process so lots of people could get a lot more from the trip. A starter for ten - tripod, 5 seconds, as wide as you can go eg f2.8 and adjust iOS 1600 starter. Focus on infinity manual focus required
Was ok. I feel the tour should have been cancelled as it was obvious with the cloud cover that we would not see the lights. However the tour guide was friendly and we stopped at one point for hot chocolate with Bailey's and were give the chance to try the fermented shark this was at no extra cost.
