like most people was disappointed not to see the lights but our driver made every effort possible and drove to so many various possible locations so can't fault him. was out from about 8.30pm to after 0100 trying. would recommend rather than the big general trips. excellent value for money
Saw the northern lights! It was a great tour, guide was fantastic. He drove to one spot then changed when the lights came out in a different area. He pointed out sights, gave information, was willing to change the tour and spend as much time as the group wanted. Overall fantastic tour!
We booked this tours on 1st day of our trip and we did not get to see the aurora on the 1st night.We reached out to the local tour and we went out again on the last night before we headed home.We saw the phenomenal aurora. We are so lucky to witness this phenomenon.
The tour itself was just amazing.We were very lucky to see the Corona too. it was good that the tour guide did take pictures of us with the lights. But he indeed took two pictures but just refused to upload both in Facebook. The reason given was they decide which is better to upload. disappointing
We are giving this Tour a 5-star review for the efforts, enthusiasm, good humour of the guides. Makrem not sure of the spelling was our guide on the first night and he drove a long way hunting for the lights. He managed to get us to an area that had clear skies, but the aurora activity was so high up and we only saw very faint glimpses before the clouds closed in. We were given another go on the second night, with Carlos as our guide following Makrem's group, again driving a long way to several areas. The sky cleared up for a short while with, again, tantalising glimpses of the aurora, and Carlos managed to take a photo of us with the green light in the background we're eagerly waiting for this photo to be uploaded/sent. We were hopeful of the skies lighting up, there were so many stars, but the clouds closed in soon afterwards. We could not fault the dedication of the tour guides, they did give it 100, and they're so funny. But, none of us have any control over nature, so though we were disappointed that we did not get to see the all-singing, all dancing auroras, it wasn't for the lack of trying from the guides. And the hunt was exciting - there's a lot of neck stretching upwards to the heavens! :- This Icelandic tour was a birthday present, and it's worth it! Iceland is absolutely stunning! We will definitely come again to try our luck with those lights, and this company gets our thumbs up and will be recommended to our friends/family.
Makrem from GoToJoyIceland was our guide , he was great! We were picked up at Bus stop 12 right outside our hotel and on time in a small 18 passenger van. Instead of going where everyone else went we stopped on the side of the road outside of the city.Makrem stayed outside the van in REALLY, REALLY cold weather while most of the women were inside the van and when the lights started forming he came inside and got us. Makrem took pictures of all of us with his camera that had the 30 second exposure that allowed us to see the beautiful colors and went out of his way to make sure everyone was happy!! One more thing off my bucket list Northern lights.
We did see the Northern Lights eventually extremely well. The guide was very diligent in his task. Hot chocolate was supplied and was needed it was perishinglt cold. Guide took photos so if you couldnt pick it up on your camera he did and then posted them on Facebook for you. Only one criticism and that was he took a group photo but not everyone was in the photo when uploaded, the company said that Facebook had chopped it! Dont know if thats true but am going to get in touch with Facebook to ask. Overall we were one of the lucky groups that managed to see the lights.

We didn't get to see the lights on our first night out but our tour guide organised for us to go another night, where we did see them. Tour guide was very chatty and nice. Would really recommend this company, really put in the effort to try and find the lights on the first night.
