Stop At: Sambodromo da Marques de Sapucai, Rua Marques de Sapucai, Rio de Janeiro, State of Rio de Janeiro 22640-100 Brazil
The Rio Carnival Parade or Samba Parade is undoubtedly Rio Carnival's highlight, a totally unique event in the world. It is something everybody has to experience at least once in a lifetime. Your evening begins at 9pm, with pickup from your hotel in selected zones (you will find out your exact pickup time at reconfirmation). The most important nights are Carnival Sunday and Monday with the main parades. These two nights are similar in terms of set-up. Six of the best samba schools in the First League (the Special Group) march on both days.
The Samba Parade isn't, however, a street style party where people just move about as they like but rather a highly orchestrated show of vast proportions. This it is not free. However, Samba Parade tickets are definitely worth the money. You will experience (and probably dance to) such a spectacular show that you certainly have never seen before. The Samba Parade is often referred to as 'The Biggest Show on Earth'.
Rio Samba Parade tickets are valid for one night only and are for Sector 4 of the Sambodromo.

Incredibly interesting and beautiful parade of Schools of Samba. The costumes were out of this world and the participation of people in the celebration were enjoyable. I believe no culture or country in the world offers what Brazil does.
The carnaval was spectacular. The only thing is the person who picked us up or brought us back to the ship spoke only portuguese and it was difficult to communicate.
