With this half day tour, you will visit the favelas of Rocinha and Vila Canoas, the largest in the country. While being transported by a minivan to the favelas, the guide will provide you with a bit of context about the favelas in Rio. The first stop is Rocinha, where you can admire the architecture and layout of the place, before the guide goes on to tell you about daily life in the favelas. There will be a pause on the terrace, enabling you to take pictures of the incredible view of Rio. Then you will have the chance to visit the Estrada da Gávea and commercial area of Rocinha, before moving on to Vila Canoas and the “Para ti”, school, a social community project funded by the tour. Explore the community’s streets and stop at a buteco (bar) for a refreshing drink. There will be a break to browse the local market and the guide will talk about the development project "Favela Barrio".
