This was the highlight of our Rome vacation. Extremely knowledgeable guide, Lorenzo, shared his obvious passion for the Roman history and made sure our group was safe and comfortable with their bikes. Could not recommend enough! If they had 10 stars they would deserve them.
What a great experience. We had 6 different tour guides throughout our trip and Pablo was probably the most down to earth friendliest one we had. He offered great insight along our trip. There were thunderstorms the day we went and it rained off and on. He quickly made sure we stayed dry providing us with some really high quality ponchos. The stop at the catacombs shouldn’t be understated...it was a great part of the tour. Getting out of the city into some of the prettiest part of Rome was so great. We went 18 miles and it was wonderful having bikes that could make it as easy or tough as we wanted with the ability to choose how much the battery assist helped. We finished with the aqueducts just about the time the sun was setting which made for amazing scenery/sunset! Pablo was outstanding the whole trip and made it really fun! The whole staff was so pleasant and caring! It was just my wife and I but I would do this one again if we came back and our four kids would just love it if they came with us! Highly recommend!
Our tour guide, Pablo, was excellent. The ebikes make the 18 mile tour effortless and a nice way to get away from the crowds of Rome. How often do you get a chance to ride a bike on the Appian Way? Go for it!
Absolutely the best tour, the best time I've had on vacation. Bike thru the historic center of Rome on the way out to the Appian Way. Ride the roads the Romans laid down in 79 BC. Lucca was the best guide. He set a great place, took questions, and made history come alive on two wheels. Take this tour!!! I wanted to go again when we got back to the shop. Thank you, TopBike!
One of the best tours we had on our trip! Highly recommend this tour as it was lots of fun and had enough stops to make the 24 Km not seem as much as it was. The E-bikes made the riding very enjoyable while still providing the amount of exercise you want depending upon the level of e-assist. Lunch was wonderful and we really enjoyed the pasta dishes and wine. We loved this tour and highly recommend it to all those who enjoy exercise, outdoor activities and ancient history.
My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our tour! We booked the 6 hour tour and our guide Pablo was amazing and personable. We had 4 tours in Rome (Colosseum, Vatican, Food, and Bike). All the tours were great but this one was my favorite. Maybe because we were away from the crowds and not walking and standing for hours. The tour takes you through many different scenic parts around the countryside of Rome. The stop at the Catacombs was a great place to cool down since you go deep underground. The food stop was at a country club. We were served two delicious dishes of pasta and some wine and water. You will see a lot of historic sites you would otherwise not see if you stay in the city center. We highly recommend this tour!!
This tour was so much fun. The e-bikes are very easy to ride, if you are looking for a workout I’d suggest asking for the carbon mountain bike option because the e-bikes really just make the trip very enjoyable. Luca was our guide, he was fantastic, giving us plenty of water stops while he explained the history of Ancient Rome, the Appian Way and the Aqueducts. I highly recommend this tour. How often will you get to say you rode a bike on a 2000 year old road and then through under and around Ancient Roman aqueducts.
We covered much territory along with a guide who was focused on safety for the group and our enjoyment. He was very knowledgeable and kind. We rode at a sufficient pace, stopped to view, learn and for snack. This was overall a great day. Be aware that the road conditions are rather rough terrain.
I did the 6 hour Appian Way tour. It was excellent and I highly recommend. My guide Klaas was very friendly, enthusiastic, and knowledgeable. It was a beautiful ride outside the metropolitan area of Rome.
We spent 3 days in Rome recently. Our last morning we spent biking the Appian way with a super impressive biker, tour guide. The countryside was refreshing, history interesting and the sights memorable. We covered a lot of territory with the assist of E-bikes! Our guide was super knowledgeable and informative. Additionally, he maintained control of our entire group allowing everyone to feel safe throughout the ride. We thought the tour well worth the time if you have 3 or more days to spend in Rome...Recommend!
very helpful ,great tour describing history of the Appian way, helpful when my husband fell , and I felt faint at the end of the bike tour due to the extremely hot temperature.
We have taken excursions all over the world and this was among the very best. An amazing tour of the countryside with plenty of historical perspective. Paulo our guide for the day was kind, patient and watchful as our group of 7 enjoyed a day on our E_Bikes. We ranged in age from 10 to 60 and everyone had a great time. Lunch was included. We cannot recommend this tour to anyone who likes to ride, enjoys the country air and is ready to travel back in time.
My husband and I love to go on bike excursions on trips. It gets you seeing a city or countryside with a different pace, enjoying all senses. We had been to Rome seeing all the highlights once, so this tour appealed to us. The catacombs, and getting an appreciation of the layout of the city was great. We did this on a day in October with mild temperatures and sunny skies. This was a good tour, but needs some caveats. The roads in Rome are congested, which is no real surprise, but it takes good nerves to navigate initially. The Appian Way is OLD, with smooth stones, and maintaining control can be difficult. The trip also takes you over fields with uneven surfaces. The write-up does little to allude to the challenges (a small sentence suggests that we are "excellent mountain bikers"), and I would not recommend for children under 14.
This was probably our most favorite tour in Rome. The bikes worked great, the guide spoke English (that you could understand) and he shared some interesting facts about Rome and the aqueducts. We recommend highly!
What an amazing way to finish out trip to Italy. I can't even describe everything we saw, every time we stopped we learned something new, and saw something beautiful. Our guides, Emanuellel and Jahn ? went above and beyond! Thank you so much for a fabulous day!
Fantastic experience! Highly qualified guide who led us through the city to the Appian Way. Excellent activity! Highly recommend this tour.
