Online booking with Viator is easy to do, small group, excursion starts at time. The guide is excellent: he provided lots of information, answer questions, cares about everyone in the group, made stops under the shade and for the rest rooms. We enter the Colosseum at no time despite a long line at entrance, and he managed to find the best stops for pictures in the large crowd around. Thank you! My husband and myself, we enjoyed the tour very much! Highly recommend to everybody!
The guide was sweet and informative. He had a smile on his face, and was very generous with stories and information, and answered all our questions related to the Colosseum and Roman Forum.
Overall a very informative and interesting tour. Learned a ton about the ruins and the Colosseum. Would have liked to spend a little longer in the Colosseum, but we had to keep moving. Overall found it a little long because of the heat and 2 hours would have been perfect.
I can’t speak highly enough of this tour. The tour guide was amazing, she really knew her stuff. Such a pleasant young lady who interacted really well with the group. I didn’t expect to be that interested in the history of Ancient Rome, it she brought it all to life. The colosseum itself was magnificent and the details and information given was so interesting. The walk up to Palatine Hill was worth it, with spectacular views and The Roman Fort was also interesting. A fantastic tour, made my the Tour Guide
It was a hot day but Faye made it so enjoyable. Well worth the price of admission. Being able to skip the line and have a group tour that was not that large was fantastic. Faye was very animated and being a previous teacher made us all feel like students starving for more knowledge. She was one of our best tour guides on our trip. Provided history on this tour I never knew. I would use Viator again for tours.
Detailed history by the tour guide very informative however you should be ready to walk miles and miles away. We are lucky because there is sun I can”t imagine how the tour like if it”s raining. I recommend the tour.
My teenage children and I took the skip-the-line guided walking tour of the Colosseum, Roman Forums and Palantine Hill and we were NOT disappointed. Our tour guide, Diego, was very welcoming and super efficient at getting us into each of the breathtaking sights of the Colosseum and Ancient Rome. No queuing (only two very short ones for security reasons which you can understand). He was extremely knowledgeable and engaging as we explored these spectacular historical landmarks. The tour was well-paced and we were given the opportunity to stop for photographs etc. I would say three hours was long enough for this excursion and unlike other tours we have taken did last for the full duration. If you're touring in the summer make sure you take plenty of water and apply sunscreen as there are very few shaded areas. All in all, I would definitely recommend this tour company.
Georgio Tour guide had done great job, in blazing 40 C temp kept group attention on facts and beauty of ancient Rome
If you are traveling to Rome in the spring/summer without a doubt you NEED this tour. Lines are crazy long and with this tour you barely make any.
Our Guide was so great, her smile, patience and knowledge was incredible! My sister had to use a wheel chair most of the trip, and through a lot of sweat, the family, our guide seen the tour to the end. For this we are so grateful, Thanks Viator for a awesome experience.
The tour guide was very informative - I would recommend this very interesting tour. there is some walking and steps that could be an issue for persons with mobility problems. Does not include the colosseum underground, unfortunately. Nice 1/2 day tour so you are not worn out by the end of it.
Vito, our driver was great! Unfortunately the A/C didn’t work, otherwise would have rated five stars
History and ruins very interesting, although too much info to take in, did 3 tours in 3 days Guide was very knowledgeable
One of my favorite places to visit inRome. An amazing tour guide makes it even better. Our guide was fabulous. Informative. Easy to understand.
Brilliant tour, very knowledgeable and fun tour guide Rose. The trip round the Forum was fascinating and brought the ancient city back to life. The Colosseum was awesome and Rose was able to describe the brutality of the Gladiator duels in such a way all on the tour were gripped. Would recommend to anyone going to Rome. Fantastic
Our guide Giulia was very patient and maintained professionalism inspite of the rains as we toured the Roman Forum. She didn’t show annoyance and didn’t rush things and still have a comprehensive historical background of the sites.
Matteo was an amazing tour guide! He was very engaging and we loved his story telling abilities! He made the entire tour so enjoyable and the time flew by so quickly! We enjoyed his illustrations from his thesis research of how the various areas in the Colosseum, Palatine Hill and Ancient Forum may have been originally. This tour is well worth it especially if you get Matteo as our guide!
Me and my partner thoroughly enjoyed this tour. You don't realise the scale of it all until up close in person. The tour guide (Julia I think?) did a fantastic job in adding all the information needed to support and expand on the spectacle we were seeing. Highly recommend getting the tour of it all as even though just seeing it is amazing in its self, all the added information just added so much to the experience.
We went during the Rome Marathon, it was chaos, even so she managed to triumph over the crowds and service closures, change the order of the tour and still see everything. She was very knowledgeable and her explanations were facinating! No issues with strong accents either. Thanks!
Very nice tour guide. But they changed the time on us, which made our tour of the Vatican feel rushed because we had to hurry to catch the new time.
Julio Tour guide was very passioite about tour area he was explaining to us. Always asked if there was more questions and kept telling interesting information and facts about Colesium, Forum and hill.. Would highly reccoment Julio as a tour guide. We took the suggestion of another reviewer and tokk a cab to the meeting place, I am not sure with out a lot of walking around we would have found it
Our tour guide Dennis was very friendly and knowledgable! So worth the price and time! Answered any questions we had! The groups were medium sized but everyone felt included throughout the entire experience!
It was our forst time in Italy and in Rome. Being on a cruise ship, we didn't have much time, and decided to focus on one thing - the Colosseum (since Vatican museums etc were closed on Sunday). The tour was amazing. A little slow to get started - possibly the formalities could have been done more quickly or even ahead of time. The tour guide was an art historian and knew a lot about the history and details, plus she had a very engaging style. THe teenagers enjoyed it, so I think that say it all right there! Highly recommended.
