We had a full day of fun with Gina as our guide. The views were spectacular and we got to jump off the boat several times. I brought my two adult daughters and they LOVED the entire day. We would love to do this again and highly recommend to all travelers. My one daughter gets motion sickness easily and was a little woozy from the waves but a kind woman had some ginger candies and they helped immensely. The ferry ride was easy too. Just a wonderful day overall. If you can get a day away from the city, do it.
We booked this excursion for three families (6 adults and 10 children ranging in age from 8 to 15). We were a little concerned about the 13-hour duration of the tour, but this proved unwarranted as the time went by very quickly. The five hours spent on the boat that took us to five different snorkeling spots was amazing. We enjoyed getting into the water especially with the 38C/100F temp. The tuna pasta served onboard at one of the stops was tasty. They prepared plain pasta for those who do not like fish. There was one unfortunate issue for a young woman who is allergic to fish. They ran out of the plain pasta. They made another serving for her but unfortunately the serving utensils had already touched the fish pasta. If you’re not into fish or pasta, you may want to bring your own lunch or food. Perhaps one of the highlights was swimming through the grottoes. Despite the lengthy travel time on a bus and boat to and from the island, we still loved the trip and are talking about doing it again. We also want to thank Gina, our guide. She was exceptionally friendly and helpful throughout the trip.
Our day began early with a rain shower, but thankfully it didn't last and the weather was stellar. Our guide, Gina, was waiting for us when we arrived at the pickup point. We loved the comfortable small bus, and the commentary along the way to the ferry. Gina accompanied the group the entire day. When we arrived at Ponza our boat was ready and we set off. Oh my! This place is so beautiful! Gina's explanations along the way showcased many of the amazing sights on this small volcanic island. We stopped several times to swim and explore. The colour of the sea is breathtaking and the water is clear as blue glass. Lunch was served on the boat by our captain, a friendly and personable individual. When we arrived back in Ponza town we had a little time to explore before returning to the mainland. All in all, it was a fabulous day and we loved it. I definitely recommend it as the whole experience was wonderful. If you're prone to motion sickness, do come prepared with anti-nausea medication or acupressure wrist bands, but don't let the possibility of a little queasiness prevent you from taking the trip. It's exceptional.
Went on with my 6 family members and had such a blast. Everything was so well organized and enjoyable for all of us. Stopped at 5 swim stops and got to swim in grottos and sea caves. Gina was awesome, and super informative. The long transportation is definitely worth it!
We had a really great day! Basic food and boat but we enjoyed it! The trip around Ponza was breathtaking and we enjoyed our swimming opportunities. Will probably do it again as opposed to the more populous island destinations.
Great break away from the museums and monuments across Rome, especially for our 4 kids 10-19. We had 4-5 opportunities to swim, including through caves, jumped off some 15ft high rocks, and just absorbed the gorgeous scenery. Spent an hour wandering and eating around the island's main town. Don't go if you get sea sick, and plan on being gone the entire 13 hours about 2.5 hours travel each way. Totally worth it to see another side of Italy. Our guides were enthusiastic, friendly.
Great tour ! amazing time. We did this with our two 6 year olds and they loved it. Make sure kids are good swimmers if you take them along, there are many stops around the island and some involve swimming through caves :- Amazing views, the water is like cristal. Great tour !
13h tour seemed daunting, but was well worth it and highlight of our trip. 5 stops to swim/snorkel, each location more beautiful than last. Water crystal clear w/magical scenery. Capt. led swim thru caves/grottos, then made a great fresh tuna pasta lunch. One hour free to explore the port. Amazing!
A GREAT tour - Kimberley is a friendly and well informed tour guide and the captain and mate highly skilled and agile with the boat! Awesome for snorkeling or just swimming, and boat comfortable for group of 30-35. Ponza's beauty blew us away, highly recommend!!
