Make your own way to Palazzo Doria Pamphilj in central Rome, and head straight inside to collect your ticket and meet your guide. The ancestral home of the Doria Pamphilj (pronounced 'Pahm-fee-lee') family, the palace contains one of the world’s most impressive private collections of Renaissance and baroque art with works by Raphael, Titian, Velázquez and, of course, Caravaggio.

On your tour of the palace’s gallery, admire famous Caravaggio paintings such as the Penitent Magdalene and learn about the baroque period during which he painted. The 17th century was a fascinating era in Italy, when art and music took a new style. As you wander amid the gallery’s halls, listen to live classical music, performed by musicians on baroque-style instruments.

After your tour, take a seat in the Jupiter Hall and finish your experience with a brief baroque music concert, performed once again on replica baroque era instruments.

We really enjoyed this tour. The guide was knowledgeable and interesting. The musical trio were excellent and really added to the baroque experience. Also very reasonably priced.
