About this activity
Begin your tour with convenient pickup service at your hotel or apartment in Rome at approximately 9am. Head to your first stop, the Colosseum. Admire the largest amphitheater ever built. Drive by the Circus Maximus and enjoy views from the Palatine Hill of the Palace of the Roman Emperors. Stop for photos on top of the Capitoline Hill, where you can take in stunning views over the Roman Forum. Stroll around the City Hall designed by Michelangelo and then go down the famous Cordonata, where your private vehicle will be waiting.
Head to the shrine of the unknown soldier in the Vittoriano monument. See the Pantheon, a temple dedicated to all Roman Gods. Visit the Trevi Fountain to throw in your coins before driving by the Spanish Steps. Enjoy a traditional and affordable lunch at a trattoria - grab a quick pizza or try some spaghetti (own expense).
Visit Saint Peter's Square following lunch. Follow a ridge along the Tiber River leading to Gianicolo Hill, from which there are panoramic views of Rome. Get a taste of artisanal gelato. Return to your accommodation by 5pm.

Very expensive for what it was. Driver was very scruffy looking, minivan was hot and scruffy. Driver was knowledgeable, however I felt it was too expensive for what we saw. However, I have nothing to go by. First time doing it this way . Next time I will really research what is included in price . 2 persons it was $540 plus$120 extra to pick up at ship and take back to hotel near airport. Again I feel I was charged too much
Alan was amazing. He spoke great English. He was helpful, funny and very knowledgeable. He knew his way around Rome like the back of his hand. Definitely recommend this tour and Alan if you are lucky enough to get him.
One of the reasons we took a private tour was to have some flexibility with our day. We couldnt have asked for a better tour guide than Alan Evans of Best Limos in Rome, We had already toured the Vatican and Museums the day before, so we had some extra time in our day. Alan took us on the normal route of must see sights in Rome. Alan was quite informative as we stopped at each location. While touring us around, he contacted a small winery in Tivoli that he knew and arranged for an outdoor, multiple course lunch for us. The winery owner was incredibly friendly and accommodating. The food was excellent and his wines paired perfectly with the food. The day was perfectly clear which made for a spectacular view from high on the hill. This fantastic day will linger in our memories for years to come. We commend Viator for selecting this tour company/guide.
