About this activity
Meet your tour guide and a small group of others in front of the Colosseum for an exciting glide through Italy's capital city. After an easy initial training session (most guests feel comfortable in minutes regardless of prior Segway experience), it's time to set off through the streets and see the city's most iconic sites — each synced to a custom multi-media presentation that plays on iPods you're provided with.
Enjoy breathtaking views over Circus Maximus and imagine yourself cheering on chariot races. Marvel at breathtaking panoramas as you cruise above the Caracalla Baths and Palatine Hill, and savor a spectacular vista of St. Peter's Basilica from the lesser-known Orange Tree Garden -- with its bitter orange trees and towering umbrella pines.
Discover a keyhole view of St. Peter's dome at the Piazza dei Cavalieri di Malta and admire the intriguing man-like Mouth of Truth at the church of Santa Maria in Cosmedin. Next, it's on to the Roman Forum, where you'll roll past ancient columns, archways, and temples before continuing on to Capitoline Hill, home to a piazza Michelangelo designed.
With ample energy to spare, you'll circle back to your final stop — the Colosseum — for a glide around its perimeter and the perfect photo op, since the best views of this ancient amphitheater are from outside.
Short on time? Select the 2 hour express Ancient Rome Segway tour and stick to the major sights like the Colosseum, Roman Form and Circus Maximus. Departs from July 1, 2018 in the afternoons at 3:00PM.

We had a wonderful time with our very kind, and knowledgeable guide, Dimitri. He provided valuable information and really paced us quite well. A Segway tour is a wonderful way to see the great city of Rome! The customer service was quite wonderful as well. For some reason, our selected tour time had to be switched. The company happily extended our experience from the shorter 2 hour version to the longer experience, free of charge. Thanks again!
Stefano was our delightful guide. Seen so much and felt completely safe. Such a fantastic way to start our holiday and view so much of the city without getting exhausted. Thank you so much!
My husband and I loved this tour! Our group was small and our guide (Eddy) was excellent! We got to see parts of Rome we would never had seen on foot or on our own. And we got to take in so much in just a few hours. Highly recommend this!
We really enjoyed our tour...we were early to our meeting place at the office so we were met by Ricardo and really enjoyed our visit with him ! He gave us some really good info regarding Rome ! Eddy was our guide and was wonderful! Very knowledgable and was very helpful with each and everyone of us on the tour! We learned alot and had a good time too ! We love the segways ! Highly recommend. We went on our first day in Rome and really saw and learned alot ! Thanks Eddy ! Debbie and Jerry
Spring Break in Italy meant extensive research and planning so that we could see everything while traveling from Venice to Florence to Rome to Naples to the Amalfi Coast. SO, the EcoArt Segway Tour was the absolute best way to catch the highlights of Rome while efficiently using our time. Eddy was our tour guide and gave us an adrenaline fun-filled overview of Rome, allowing us to see every highlight plus more that we had researched. We were well trained on the Segway, so our family navigated every terrain Eddy took us on. We went through crowds with ease, travelled along sidewalks to get to the perfect spot for viewing, and maneuvered through traffic without concern because Eddy had prepped us well and took the lead. We saw more in these few hours than humanly possible if we had tried to walk it. Plus Eddy was able to share history and stories at each stop. It was amazing! We did not choose the Colosseum Entry because we had secured the Colosseum Underground Tour, which was fantastic.
The Segway tour was a great deal of fun and I would certainly recommend it to others. Eddy, our guide, was entertaining and informative at our stops, and kept us out of trouble as we navigated the streets. I was anxious, as I was almost certainly above the weight limit for a Segway but he had me up and running with very few problems. The Segways are perfect for covering a lot of ground in a limited amount of time. A few things to remember about a tour of this type: Although there are stops for information and photos, the major ingredient of the tour is the experience of cruising through the streets don't expect to dismount and spend time at the majority of the sites that you will see. Just be aware of this in advance it is the usual tradeoff for covering a lot of ground in a short time period. I did notice based on the photos posted here by other tour participants that other groups visited sites that we didn't get to apparently other riders got to get close to the Pantheon, the Senate, etc. which we never approached. Perhaps it was too cold on the afternoon of our tour, or getting too dark, but I did feel that we had missed some of the stops that other people made. My recommendation still stands: the staff was very friendly and accommodating, the guide was excellent, and the experience was very worthwhile.
Great tour by Eco Art. What a great way to see some of Rome's amazing sights. Definitely recommend this for a great way to view amazing sited
Outstanding tour which included great views of Rome.
Flavio our guide was absolutely wonderful. He was very patient with us as we leavened to ride a Segway for the first time, and he was incredibly knowledgeable and pleasant. I can’t imagine seeing Ancient Rome any other way.
