Stop At: Villa Borghese, P.zzale del Museo Borghese, 00155 Rome Italy
The best way for us to describe the Villa Borghese gardens is:
As the keeper of the Villa Borghese Pinciana, I publicly declare: whoever you are, providing to be a freeman, fear no hindrance here; go where you like, ask what you wish; leave when you want. Everything you see was made more for the guest than for its landlord. In the golden century, when peaceful years made any thing splendid for the refined ones, the landlord forbade all iron rules for the guest.
Let good faith be the only rule for our friend.
But if someone, consciously and purposely, by wickedness and deceit, was to break the golden rules of courtesy, be alert, the angry keeper may break these friendly words on your head.
(Latin inscription carved on marble plate at Villa Borghese).
Duration: 15 minutes

We did the Guided Tour in the morning at 8AM. Mattia was an excellent guide. He was very passionate about the artwork that is a part of the Borghese Gallery collection. His expertise, his immense ardor, and devotion to the artwork made this an unforgettable experience.
Our guide was really well informed and passionate about Italian art. She did a great job guiding a sizable group (around 20). The gallery is filled with amazing paintings, frescoes and sculptures. She made sure to point out the important things and made it interesting by providing the back stories behind many of the items. The Borghese Gardens have seen better days; not to the same high standard as the Gallery, so we didn't spend much time there. Even though we were weary, having just landed that morning, the tour was stimulating and very enjoyable. We did several tours during our stay and she was our consensus favorite tour guide. Highly recommended.
Had a wonderful tour of the Borghese gallery. The tour guide was very knowledgeable and was easy to understand. The only issue is that it was too short - wish we could have stayed for another hour. Come early or stay late and enjoy the surrounding park.
These skip-the-line tickets were a waste. What we got for our money was a short tour of 8 or 10 galleries with a brief talk by the guide focusing on a single work. Then it was on to the next gallery. At the unexpected end we were escorted to the exit. I asked if we werent permitted to view the works on display until closing time and was told simply No. Im an art historian and there were many pieces in the Borghese that I wanted to see, but I was denied access to the public displays. AVOID THIS TOUR ! Its yet another Roman rip-off.
This was one of the highlights for me in Rome. I had been anticipating the Borghese gallery for a long time as I believe Bernini is amazing. This was worth the money, I paid for skip the line and they offered a free tour so I took it. I believe this is a must see in Rome. I would definitely buy these tickets.
Great place to visit. Easy to find the person to get our tickets.
