Our guide, Julia, did an excellent job leading us through the sites as we ate our way around Rome. The food was wonderful, and there was plenty of it. We tasted pesto, olive oils, and balsamic vinegars in the Campo De’ Fiori Market and then had tastings of salami, pizzas, tiramisu, gelato, and coffee. There was wine, beer, and lemoncello, too! In addition, there as fabulous lunch in an amazing setting. Julia was friendly and knowledgeable. She had plenty of interesting information to share about the Market, Pantheon, and Trevi Fountain. Our group size of 8 made it easy to navigate all the venues and narrow streets. It was a lot of walking over 4 hours, but well worth it. I highly recommend this tour if you want a variety ( and plenty) of great Roman food!
Start your adventure in Rome here! This tour was our first stop in a 3 week adventure in Italy. Greta was our tour guide and we couldn't have asked for a more personalized experience. This tour set us up for success in Rome and walked us thru what to expect in food, culture and the Italian experience. Greta's knowledge was amazing, the tour company was so professional and we booked other tours with this company throughout our adventure. All of them equally as great! Thanks to Rafael Tours and Greta for kicking of our vacation with a bang, it only got better from there because of you! We highly recommend this tour and say hello to Greta for us!
The food and wine tour was amazing. We tasted some great food and drank some lovely wine. Giorgia our tour guide simply made the tour unforgettable with her knowledge about the food and wine and also some of the wonderful places we visited
Everything about this tour was perfect. Our host (Georgiana) was amazing and so friendly. The group size was not too big (13) which made it really nice for eating and hearing Georgiana. We were expecting the tour to be walking for 20 minutes, eating for 5 minutes for the entire tour. It ended up being the opposite. By the end of the tour we could not eat another bite. We were stuffed. We never felt rushed and all of the food was outstanding.
The tour around campo de fiori was excellent. There was well more food included than expected. We lunched at a restaurant above the old pompei theater. The pantheon was a highlight. We spent enough time there without rushing. The best part by far was our excellent guide Angela. She was patient, knowledgeable and incredibly friendly. We'd tour with her again anytime. Thank you Angela!!
Really fantastic tour ... wonderful tastings and fun and knowledgeable leaders a fine way to see And taste Rome
Claudia was an expert and this tour was fabulous! There were only six of us. Do not eat before enjoying this absolutely delightful tour. The food and wine were awesome and I highly recommend this tour. You will enjoy Italian meats and cheeses, wine, pesto/crackers, pasta, coffee and tiramasu! Fabulous!
Loved this tour, Claudia was an awesome guide, got to see and taste traditional Italian food and drink lots of wine. Lunch was amazing, got to try a range of pastas.
The food tour in Rome is a must do. We may all think we know Italian food - but we do not know it like this. The tour was a seven stop sojourn through the best that Rome has to offer. From personalised tastings to a sit down course. Not only is the food fantastic but you also learn the background and the history. In addition you learn more about Roman history while you dine. Francesca was an excellent guide. Yes I am raving but with good reason!
What an amazing start to our vacation we got to hit some of the highlights of Rome and experience some behind the scenes tasting. Our guide Roberto was entertaining and extremely helpful.
This tour was just better than OK. The meat shop was good and the information interesting, but we had been on a food tour of another area two days prior and the guide was much better and the food knocked this tour out of the park. The guide knew his information, but I did not get the impression that he loved his job. The meeting location was a little confusing as there were multiple food tours meeting at the same location and departing within minutes of each other. It would have been better to state outside a specific restaurant or shop instead of a statue where everyone else was meeting their tours. The other couple on the tour was also confused and we decided to call the company but no one answered the phone. Our guide was a few minutes late which caused us all unnecessary stress.
We had an amazing time on the tour! Got to do an olive oil/balasmic vinegar tasting, assorted deli meats, suppili rice balls with cheese inside, traditional roman street pizza, two types of traditional roman pastas, caffe, gelato, and tiramisu! All of this while walking through Rome and getting a personal tour of the sites, along with great history about everything! Would definitely do again!
