About this activity
This 2-day tour is ideal for those who want to explore the most famous sights of St. Petersburg in fun, informative, and relaxed way. The tour takes a look at local culture, cuisine, history, myths, facts and rumors. You'll see famous sights, but also visit more local areas and get tips for local restaurants. Your small-group guide will tell you details and stories, and answer any questions you have. You will also have free time on your own to wander around.
Day 1: St. Petersburg
After pickup from your cruise port, you'll embark on a St. Petersburg city tour. You will see main sites and historical attractions of downtown St. Petersburg including the Church on Spilled Blood with its elaborate mosaics, the Kazan Cathedral, the Hermitage Museum and its massive art collection, a local food market, and more. You'll also take a canal cruise and see why St. Petersburg is often called the 'Venice of the North.'
Throughout the day you'll have time on your own to take photos or stop for lunch at a local cafe or restaurants.
Return to the port.
Day 2: St. Petersburg
After another pickup from the port, you'll visit the south of the city. See palace estates, monuments, rivers and canals, beautiful bridges, churches and cathedrals, memorial squares and parks. You'll visit Catherine Palace, where you can take photos of the stunning facade and visit the Amber Room. Enjoy free time in Pushkin Town which is one of the most popular suburbs for locals. Dine, explore, take photos, shop, or stroll its manicured parks.
Next you'll drive to Peterhof, where you'll visit the Peterhof Fountain Park. The 300-acre park and fountains were built by Peter the Great to rival Versailles in France.
Back in St Petersburg you'll take the Metro, an attraction in itself. Find out why St. Petersburg's metro lines are known as the "palaces of the People".
Return to the port.
