Meet your guide in the center of St. Petersburg on Lenin Square, and then go on your communist tour. In 1917, Russia became the center of world history. The strikes of the cruiser Aurora heralded the beginning of a new era. During the October Revolution leftist revolutionaries led by Bolshevik Party leader Vladimir Lenin launched a nearly bloodless coup d'état against the Duma's provisional government. The Bolsheviks would later become the Communist Party of the Soviet Union, their rule lasted more than 70 years.

You will see the places where the revolution was built.
Look at the building, known locally as Bolshoy Dom (the Big House). Since 1932, the NKVD department is located in the buildings, and later the KGB department also moved here. The big house has become an ominous symbol of Stalinist repression. Thousands of the people of Leningrad passed through his offices, many of them were awaiting execution.

Stop for photos near the Aurora ship. In 1917 the Aurora's crew took an active part in the February and October revolutionary activities and the Civil War. On 25 October 1917 a blank shot from her forecastle gun signaled the start of the assault on the Winter Palace, which was to be the beginning of the October Revolution.

Take a walk through the Field of Mars, in 1917 the remains of those who died during the February Revolution were ceremonially buried here. During the siege of Leningrad, the Field of Mars turned into a vegetable garden.

Visit Solovetsky Stone, a monument to victims of political suppression in the Soviet Union.

See Peter and Paul Fortress, which was an important strategic place during the communist revolution with the Petrograd Military and Revolutionary Committee main office here making it the place from where the command for the storming the Winter Palace was given.

Stop At: The State Museum of the Political History of Russia, Kuibysheva st., 2/4 Metro: Gorkovskaya, St. Petersburg 198218 Russia
Then admire the balcony of the Museum of Political History of Russia, from which Lenin made his speeches.
