We booked a tour of St. Petersburg through Viator in May and were very impressed with their service. We discovered Viator on Trip Advisor, it was very easy to book the tour online and we especially liked the fact that we could add extra hours if we wished. The tour was provided by a local tour operator in St. Petersburg. They took care of getting the paperwork in lieu of visas for just 50 per person we had been told by our cruise line that it was impossible to even get off the boat without a bona fide visa which costs around 350 but this was not the case at all. Ulko Tours assured us that a guide would be waiting for us as soon as we exited the ship and she was there 15 minutes ahead of our scheduled tour time. We had a wonderful time, visiting the highlights of beautiful St. Petersburg, our guide took us wherever we wanted to go, and although she stayed with us at all times, we didn't feel she was at all obtrusive. She was very knowledgeable, friendly and spoke perfect English. We did indeed extend our tour by 2 hours as there was so much to see and do, and our guide dropped us off at the ship.
