Day 1
8:30-9am Meeting by the ship .
Orientation city tour in St Petersburg
9.30-11.00 pm Trip to the Tsar’s Village. Showing you beautiful metro station on the way there. Possible visit of Kuznechny market ( if time permits)
11.00-12:30pm Inside guided tour of Catherine Palace with Amber Room
12:45-1:30pm Traditional 3 course Russian lunch
1.30-2.30pm Driving to Petergof
2:30- 4pm Petergof Lower park with Fountains .Upper park – French regular park
4-4:45pm driving to the city along new, picturesque high-speed road with view on spot stadium -a venue for FIFA 2018 worldcup championship
5- 5:30pm Guided tour of St. Isaac Cathedral
6:30pm Return to the ship

8am Meeting near the ship
8-10:00am Visit of farmer market, second part of the city tour including walking tour along Nevsky Prospect .Shopping
10-12:00 pm Early opening hour visit of The Hermitage Museum
12:30-1:00pm - Inside guided tour of St Peter and Paul Cathedral in Peter and Paul Fortress
1.30-2.30 pm Lunch (optional) in some non touristy place
2:30-3pm Church on the Spilt Blood inside excursion
3.30-4.30pm Tour of Faberge museum ( with the biggest collection of Faberge Royal Easter Eggs )
5 pm Return to the ship

A smaller tour company that provided us with an outstanding tour for our group of six in a mercedes van. We were able to go from stops to stops in a timely manner, without having to waste time waiting for anyone. No problem zipping around the city's traffic, whereas the big tour buses have to slowly crawl through the congestion . Our tour guide spoke perfect english and worked enthusiastically to show us the sights. We were able to visit the Hermitage museum on a day that is closed, because of the connections of the company owner. Pretty much the six of us in a totally empty museum. No crowds, no lines even though there were four cruise ships in port that day. The fees they charged are less than the ship's tour price, and you could see a whole lot more in 20 hours visa free. Highly recommended, it's a no brainer.
