The Romanovs' Secrets Tour

Your expert guide will pick you up from your hotel and take around a historical center of St.Petersburg in air-conditioned minivan.

Most of the stops will be at the main squares of the city where the monuments to the Russian Emperors and Empresses are, and most of the stories will be connected with the secrets of their marriages, coups de etat, births and deaths.

You will see the Mikhailovsky (St.Michael’s) Castle, the Church of the Savior on the Spilled Blood, Palace Square, Senate Square and St.Isaac’s Square. You will learn about the persons who thanks to the secrets of their lives have been named “Russian Iron Mask”, “Russian Hamlet” and “the Sphinx who took his secret to the grave”.

The tour will include the inside visits of Peter and Paul Fortress - one of the oldest symbols of St. Petersburg and the burial place of nearly all Russian Emperors and Empresses from Peter the Great to Nicholas II.

After free time for a lunch break a part of the tour will be dedicated to the secret of Rasputin, this Siberian peasant whom the Russian Empress called “Our Friend” and to the relations between him and the family of the last Russian Emperor. During the inside visit of the Yusupov Palace you will see luxurious state rooms and the room with wax figures where Rasputin was murdered.
