This was a small group tour , and in fact turned out to be smaller than we thought it would be. Nevertheless, Michael did tremendous job. He covered the city thoroughly, was well informed and personable, and went out of his way to make sure we saw what we wanted to. Wr would do this again without hesitation.
This tour was informative and extremely interesting. The tour guide/driver was personable and competent. He knew every area well, had some personal stories to entertain the group...all in all, a great way to see the city in a few hours. DC
We drove through many neighborhoods and learned the history of them. There were only five people in our van and we were able to drive through areas that a larger tour bus couldn't have visited. Freddie, our driver and guide had many stories to tell. He obviously loves San Francisco history. We would have loved to have had short stop at Ghiradelli's Chocolate Factory and a short stop in Chinatown, but that didn't happen. We did have good photo stops near the Golden Gate Bridge, at the 1915 San Francisco World Fair site and at Twin Peaks. Freddie was very helpful in answering our questions about how to use SF buses, trolleys and cable cars which allowed us to find our way around SF during the rest of our stay in the city.
It was only OK. I say this because we did not see The Golden Gate Bridge or get to go to Fishermans Wharf because it was fleet week and the area was very very crowded with all that was going on, i.e. Bue Angels, food market. Etc. That was very disappointing as those were two I mportant places I wanted to see. Our guide tried making the time up by showing us some neighborhoods with expensive homes etc. He was a great guide though.
Our tour director seemed to have no oranized program. He talked more about about himself and stories he wanted to tell. We drove right next to the cable cars and he never mentioned them. He pointed out almost no architectural sites. In order to ask a question we had to interrupt his story.
