Although I do recommend this combo helicopter flight and Alcatraz tour, I have one thing to add that I think was a drawback. Namely the time in between the flight and the departure of the ferry taking us to Alcatraz island is too great. We ended up spending a large amount of time waiting for our time slot to go to Alcatraz. Especially if your time is limited this could be a negative. Other than that, we had a great day,

We had toured the city by bus and on foot the day before, and it was really neat to rediscover everything from the air. The pilot highlighted all the points of interest and shared some information throughout the flight about everything we saw. We also loved the sound track they play in-between the pilot's comments. As the top of the Golden Gate Bridge was a bit foggy the pilot flew underneath the bridge which was really fantastic. He even spotted a whale between Alcatraz and Pier 39, and circled over it so that we could all see it. The landing was super smooth. A great experience and I would love to do it again. After the flight we were shuttled back to our drop-off spot near Pier 33 and we went on to enjoy our tour of Alcatraz
