Lots of interesting details at the Alcatraz tour. Muir woods breathtaking! Totally recommend!
Lots of interesting details at the Alcatraz tour. Muir woods breathtaking!
The bus pick up was prompt. The driver was skilled going up the winding roads to Muir woods. I felt safe in the bus. I wish there was more time given up there in the woods. We had 1.5hrs. Had we more time, i would have gone further in to the woods. The Alcatraz was awesome. beat the queue to get the tickets. just need to exchange our vouchers for the tickets that bore my name. It was free and easy at Alcatraz so it wasnt stressful to leave the island. The Dungeon was a disappointment. It was just some actors putting up an hr long show. Can be quite boring if you have been out since morning. Just skip this and spend more time at the wharf. Maybe see the seals at Pier 39.
Well the weather didn't cooperate on this one. I paid 300. for this tour and two-thirds of it was a washout. Madame Tussaud's was great because it was indoors. The tour to Alcatraz was very uncomfortable we were almost blown off the island. Muir Woods was out of the question. Never saw it. Our driver, who was GREAT, GREAT was sympathetic. Once we came upon a tree which crossed the road and some rock slides on the hillsides we turned right around. We were reimbursed 126. for the Muir Woods trip, but the Alcatraz tour 0. I feel as though this trip should have been cancelled TOTALLY! in the morning before our start. The weather predictions were hazardous!!! as mentioned by the a.m. news broadcast. We would have completely understood. JUST SO DISAPPOINTED.
To get the most out of the Muir Woods tour, be sure that you feel like a nice long walk otherwise, it is a bit boring. Alcatraz is well worth your time and money because it is a place like no other. The views from Alcatraz are stunning. The history is quite interesting. Flower gardens were okay, but the hummingbirds were nice surprise. Madam Tussaud in San Francisco was very well done and the people in wax were a nice variety.
