We will visit the famous aircraft carrier USS Hornet. It gained fame for its numerous exploits during World War II and later for bringing the Apollo 11 astronauts back to Earth from the first Moon landing in 1969. President Nixon was on board to welcome the returning astronauts back to Earth, where they lived in quarantine aboard Hornet. Visit different types of aircrafts on display in the Hangar Deck and on the Flight Deck. Learn about US Navy history, aircraft carriers, and the NASA Apollo Program.
