Day 1: Evening Arrival Into San Jose & City Sightseeing
Stop At: Costa Rica Beer Factory, Barrio Escalante, 100mts sur de Fresh Market o 600mts norte de Bagelmen´s, Calle 33, Barrio Escalante, San José, Costa Rica
For day 1 (day of arrival), we recommend you arrive into San Jose in the evening, just to rest up for the following day. Nonetheless, we do meet up in the evening for a stroll around the city.

Day 2: The Volcanic National Parks of Poás & Arenal & Bathing in Hot Springs
Stop At: Cr130, Poas Volcano National Park Costa Rica
We take an early-morning, one and a half-hour drive to the Poás Volcano National Park. After seeing the stratovolcano, we take a two and a half-hour drive to La Fortuna. This village is used specifically as a base from which to visit the Arenal Volcano National Park and the surroundings tomorrow and the following day. Early this evening, we will be going into a resort with natural hot springs perfect for bathing.

Day 3: Hiking Around Arenal Volcano, Venado Caves & Visiting a Tall Waterfall
Stop At: Venado Caves, Arenal Volcano National Park Costa Rica
Arenal Volcano measures at least 1,633 meters (5,358 feet) high and is estimated to be less than 7,500 years old. We plan on doing some hiking in the area. Other than the volcano, La Fortuna offers the attractions of Venado Caves and a tall waterfall, both of which we should be visiting.

Day 4: Whitewater Rafting & ATV Riding Near La Fortuna
Stop At: La Fortuna Waterfall, Arenal Volcano National Park, La Fortuna de San Carlos 106-4417 Costa Rica
Popular activities in the area include horseback riding, whitewater rafting, canyoning (rappelling, rafting, waterfall jumping), zip lining, mountain biking, ATV riding, dirt bike riding, and bungee jumping. Whitewater rafting and ATV riding are included in today’s itinerary. For any of the other activities mentioned here, you can purchase directly with the local service provider.

Day 5: Zip Lining & Sky Walking at the Monteverde Cloud Forest Reserve
Stop At: Monteverde Cloud Forest Biological Reserve, 22 MI Southeast Of Tilaran 35 km, Monteverde Cloud Forest Reserve 55-5655 Costa Rica
We are making a daytrip to the Monteverde Cloud Forest Reserve. Although it is only 66 miles (106 kilometers) between La Fortuna and Monteverde, the mountainous drive can take up to four hours. This is why we are using the taxi/boat/taxi shortcut, which takes about two and a half hours. Expect to do some zip lining and sky walking today.

Day 6: Hiking Around the Rincon de la Vieja National Park
Stop At: Rincon de La Vieja National Park, Costa Rica
We are taking an early-morning, three and a half-hour drive to the Rincon de la Vieja National Park. Santa Rosa is the most popular area of this well-liked park. Expect to see flora and fauna, hot mud pits and a small volcano.
Duration: 5 hours

Day 7: The Beaches of Samara & Tamarindo & Seeing Leatherback Turtles
Stop At: Samara Beach, Playa Samara Costa Rica
We are making a daytrip via a two and a half-hour drive to Samara followed by a two-hour drive to Tamarindo. Two hours in Samara and three hours in Tamarindo will give us enough time to enjoy ourselves. The drive from Tamarindo back to Rincon de la Vieja takes about two and a half hours. Both villages are popular specifically for their fine beaches. However, Tamarindo is also popular for spotting leatherback turtles.

Day 8: The Beaches of Manuel Antonio National Park
Stop At: Manuel Antonio National Park, Manuel Antonio Costa Rica
After exploring the Rincon de la Vieja National Park a little more, we are taking a five-hour drive to Manuel Antonio National Park. Manuel Antonio is one of the most famous tourist destinations in Costa Rica. Spend your time enjoying the fine beaches, which are surrounded by rainforest.
Duration: 3 hours

Day 9: Horseback Riding at Manuel Antonio National Park
Stop At: Manuel Antonio National Park, Manuel Antonio Costa Rica
Horseback riding is a favorite activity at the Manuel Antonio National Park. We are dedicating a few hours to this today. The rest of the day is dedicated to enjoying the beaches, hanging out at the beach bars and otherwise socializing with other tourists and locals alike.

Day 10: Our Tour Ends This Morning
Stop At: Playa Manuel Antonio, Parque Nacional Manuel Antonio, 6 kms south of Quepos, Manuel Antonio 195-6350 Costa Rica
Manuel Antonio National Park is the final destination on our group tour of Costa Rica. Around 10:00am, we will be taking a 3-hour drive back to San Jose. We could drop you off in the town center or at the international airport. Just let us know.
