About this activity
Experienced guides will give you a general description of the different places you will see on your tour of the largest city in the small nation.
This is a must-see on any trip to the capital of Costa Rica. Start the day with a pick-up service at approximately 8:00 a.m or 1:00 pm from your hotel in San José, Alajuela or Heredia. (This tour is available in the morning and in the afternoon) . From the comfort of the minivan, you will enjoy the panoramic views of San José. During the trip, your English speaking guide will inform you about the places you will see on the road, starting with the Costa Rican Art Museum in La Sabana. See the heart of the city center, The National Theater, University of Costa Rica, National Museum and the Arts and Crafts Market to buy souvenirs. I was very disappointed by this tour. I was informed very late the night before that the tour was going to be an hour later than the originally scheduled time. As a result, we were waiting for a while before we realized they were coming 1 hour later. The tour was supposed to stop at 5 places and only stopped at 2. The rest we drove by which is not what is described in the tour information. The one place we really wanted to stop was the arts and crafts market. We were not told it was going to close at 4 until it was too late to do anything about it. We never got to go to the one place we really wanted to see. This tour was supposed to be 4-5 hours and it was only 3 hours. Bottled water was supposed to be provided and it was not. For 60/person, this was not worth the cost. I would not recommend this tour to anyone without significant changes.
