Pass By: Santorini Volcano, Greece
The tour starts with the bus transfer from the pick-up point to the Port of Athinios. From there it continues with the boat King Thiras to the lava island Nea Kameni where the boat makes a stop to give you the opportunity to walk up the ascending soil path and approach the crater of the still active Volcano.
After seeing the crater you walk back down the dirt path to the boat which brings you to the second lava island Palea Kameni, where you find the hot Springs.
The boat makes a stop around 50 meters from the opening and you can swim in the green sulphur waters of the hot springs, wet your feet or just enjoy the view.
The tour continues after the hot springs to Thirassia Island which was once part of Santorini before the big Explosion of the Volcano. There you stay for two hours and you have the opportunity to do some activities like swimming on the beach of Thirassia, have lunch next to the Sea or just explore the Village of Manolas with its winding steps and traditional houses.
On the way back to Athinios port where the tour ends you will cruise with King Thiras under Oia where the best pictures can be taken of the amazing cliffs and the breathtaking scenery.

We were worried that the trip would be cancelled due to 50km/h winds and 2m swells. The team handled everything very well. We got a bit wet with the sea spray but it was fun and we never felt unsafe. The walk up the volcano was uncomfortable and we could not hear what the guide was saying because of the strong wind, but it was nobody's fault. I am glad we could do the trip as we only had this one day to fit it into our itinerary. The timing was perfect at each stop.
This cruise was not the best option for an excursion. You get to pass some beaches and you can swim by the volcanoes in the sulfur water. The volcano hike was probably the best part of the trip. Be prepared with proper shoes and a hat! I would have liked to actually dock and get off on the beaches and not just pass them.
This was an excellent tour of the caldera. We saw a lot and visited many different attractions (Volcano, Hot springs, Thirasia, cruise by Oia (with the blue domes)). Make sure you bring money as the volcano costs a couple of euros in order to hike to the top. Overall a HOT and great experience.
Good day trip but time allocated at lunch stop was too long. Some swimmers commented that more time to swim to the hot springs should have been allowed. Nice big boat and shade cover was much appreciated.
