Santorini is stunningly beautiful. Vicky our tour guide was fabulous. She shared a lot of details regarding the island. However the sunset is overhyped. Its a bottleneck in terms of space with a whole lot of people rushing to the spot. Its best to watch the sunset from the hotel, if your hotel has Caldera view. My suggestion would be to take the tour but skip the sunset.
Our transfer picked us up only a few blocks from our apartment. We visited a local Greek village, Akrotiri Archaeological Site, Red Beach, Perivolos Beach and the Sunset in Oia, It was a long day but well worth it.
This tour is perfect for anyone who has a limited time in Santorini. The pickup worked well, the guide Vicki was very informative and I saw everything I wanted to see in a fun way. Definitely recommend.
This was a great tour. Niko was our driver and he was excellent, pleasant, and a fantastic driver. Vicky was our tour guide. She was very nice, knowledgeable, and helpful. My only thing is I feel like the bus should come with wifi since we cannot access internet with wifi. I highly recommend this tour!
it was wonderful tour lots of information very beautiful sunset must see it our tour guide give us lots of information about santorini
Tour was awesome...Lady guide was so impressive talkative and knowledgies.. She explained each and every thing very perfectly...Driver(Harris) was so polite and calm.. In India we call it full paisa wasool trip.... Thanks!!!!!
Vicki, our tour guide, was most interesting and informative about the sites of Santorini giving us a great deal of details about the culture and facts about the people of Greece. Although the tour was 10 hours in length we were given ample time to have lunch, dinner, and time to explore the various sites. We would highly recommend is tour!
The guide was excellent, bi-lingual, articulate and knowledgeable, and the bus-driver skillfully negotiated some pretty hairy roads. The island high point provided a lovely view of the island, the Wine Museum Tour was excellent and explained why grapevines are grown as they are on Santorini. The dessert wine they provide a sample of and sell was a real find---a splendid sweet wine. Oia for sunset is over-rated as a destination....very nice, but way over-hyped, most likely by some savvy publicists Oia has hired. However, 2 things stand out as sore points for me: 1) The visit to Red Beach is actually a visit overlooking Red Beach. There has been extensive damage at the beach and all you can do is look down at it from a pathway along the cliff. 2) The archaeological site of Akrotiri was closed on the day of my tour. I was given no fore-warning that it was going to be closed and no money was credited to my account.
The tour accomplished everything that was planned out. Our guide was Vicky and the bus driver, Petros. I was in one of the last pick up points, so they arrived around half an hour late for pick up, however that did not impact on the rest of the trip. The nicest points for me were visiting Emporio village, which was very different and had a lot of information about the local people in Santorini! And, of course, the sunset at Oia, which is as beautiful as everyone advertises! Visits to the peak (Mount Elias) and winery were ok, although not outstanding. We stopped for lunch at Perissa/Black beach which was worth it! We had enough time to have lunch and enjoy the sea as well! Overall, it is a good tour for people who have only one or two days in the island and that do not plan on renting a car. I think we would profit more of the tour if it was in a small group, in vans, rather than a big group in a bus, but overall it was a nice experience in Santorini!
We were staying in Oia and the car picking us up was very late so I had to make calls to find out where they were. Luckily I have data. The driver eventually showed up and was less then polite. He drove like he was possessed. Did not speak to us, not even a hello or bye. He dropped us off somewhere, where it became apparent we were waiting for other people to arrive. Very little communication of how the tour would be run or what was happening. This tour does not give you any indication that you will be on a bus with 50 other people and we would not of booked this if we had known that. The tour guide was ok, the highlight for us was the optional extra tour of the archaeology site, but it did seem that we had a great local guide. It cost 12 euro and in our opinion well worth the dollars. This site is nothing without the history information, so make sure you get a guided tour. 4500 year old community that has only 3% of the dig completed and due to the Greek economic downturn the dig stopped. But the European Union chipped in $20 Mill Euro to build an enclosure so that it does not deteriorate and in that process they found pottery dating back to 7500 years. If I had my time over, I would just make my way to this site and forget the rest. They did take us to the Red Beach but there had some severe storms and winds and it was closed so it was just a photo stop. The Black Beach is where all the beach lovers head but of course you have to buy a drink to use any of the umbrellas. They took us up to the mountain for a quick 20 min visit to see the view, nothing to write home about and a visit to a Winery that provided free tastings and of course the marketing ploy to get you to buy some very expensive wine and they threw in the free Wine Museum. It was supposed to be one of the top 10 Wine Museums in the world but I thought it was dated and the models were very amateur. This also was advertised to include Sunset in Oia and it was, however I felt for all those people who did not stay in Oia as the guide got off the bus in Fira and said the bus driver will wait for you after the sunset to drop you back or someone from our company will drop you back to your hotel (which was included). The thing is that the sun does not go down till 8:30pm, they were not heading back till 9:30pm so a tour that was 6 hours long and started at 9:45am ended up in a very long day with not that much to see.
Many problems with de drivers. First, the driver was in the wrong place to pick me up, then he came in the right one, but he said It was that his car was for my city tour a d left. I waited a lot and decided to send a whatsapp to NST and they wanted to transfer my city tour for the next day. Thanks the owner If Grande Murano, who called The agency, they decided to pick me up. The guide was very kind person, but the bus áudio was nota working well and most of the passengers could not hear what she said during the trip. The turistics places we visited were fantastic. But at the end, more confusion with the driver service. One insisted there I was in another hotel, even though I showed him my Booking reservation confirmarion in greek. Another driver could finnaly understand me and left me in the right hotel.
We were the last to be picked from the hotel (their route), we ended with where ever there were sits and were separated from my wife, ended up in the last row with some large group with crying babies who also occupied seats (not supposed to). Could not hear anything in the back of the bus. When complained the guide could not do much, but pointed out to the other group that we were complaining, which should not be the case, the problem was with more than 10 other people that could not hear with baby crying. We complained with Viator and the Supervisor from the tour company had to be sent to resolve the issue. We missed one attraction in all this fiasco. Tour gave a 10 euro credit. Disgusting. The guide left before the end of the tour and asked us to walk down to see the sunset and get back on the bus. I don't think I will take tour with this company again. They need a fair system of assigning seats and maintaining proper program.
The wine tasting is a waste of time... The other things were very good. Loved red beach, black beach and highest point
It was a fantastic day. Starting with the highest point of the island and then to Akrotiri with its red beaches and the excavation sites from the bronze age. The lunch was at the black sand beach of Perissa, before exploring the pretty castle at Emporio. After tasting the local vine at the picturesque winery, we proceeded to one of the most beautiful experiences of my life - the sunset at Oia village - the picture postcard moment of everyone's life. We had a fantastic guide in Alex. It was a great day - not too rushed but a comprehensive tour of the island.
Great tour! Included black and red beaches, monestary, excavation site, and winery! Learned a lot about the islands history and was a super informative tour. Only down side was the amount of time it took to get the tour started. Between hotel transfers etc.
Great cruise. Very relaxing. Great crew very friendly. Food and drink was wonderful. Would recommend this cruuse
Totally loved this tour as we saw so many locations plus WINE too! I would recommend this to others as well.
This NST tour was really great. It included everything I wanted to see, and I really felt like I got to learn about Santorini in a day. We had Nikos as our tour guide, and he did an excellent job explaining important details about the island and it’s origins.
I enjoyed this trip but felt that a lot of the afternoon consisted of filling in time before the sunset.
