Itinerary
The Kuk Cave is located in the Bistrica river canyon, about 1 hour drive from our camp. Due to the small entrance, this cave has remained hidden for many years because of which she saved her jewelry.
Unlike other caves, the cave is not illuminated by reflectors. With a flashlight attached to your helmet, you will have a complete sense of how to explore the underworld. The tourist part of the cave is 688 meters long. Cave is very rich in jewelry and contains all forms of cave jewelry (massive stalactites and stalagmites, cave curtains, pillars, coralides …). This cave is especially interesting because it was home to the extinct species of cave bear that died 40,000 years ago. Today you can also see skeletons of the extinct species of bears that are the oldest in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Also, the interestingness of this cave is also reflected in the fact that it contains very rare species of cave fauna that you can see only in it.
