A massive archaeological site which has evidence of occupation from biblical times to the present. It is also home to a Roman Amphitheatre which was built in the 2nd century C.E, & Bell Caves from the early Arab period which resemble the architecture of Antonio Gaudi.

Named after Mordechai Anielewicz, the leader of the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising that was directed againts the Nazis during World War 2.
The kibbutz played a prominant role in the 1948 War of Independence.
