Stop At: Ancient City of Ephesus, Selcuk 35920 Turkey
When your cruise ship arrives in Kusadasi, meet your private guide at the port and set off in your air-conditioned minivan to begin your shore excursion. Absorb the views of the Aegean Sea as you travel north towards Ephesus.
After about 30 minutes, arrive at Ephesus and enter this stunningly preserved Greco-Roman site via the Magnesia Gate. Then, walk with your knowledgeable guide around this once-bustling city, and hear how it was once the capital of the Roman Empire in Asia Minor, and enjoyed a golden age in around 2nd century BC.
Follow the marble-paved streets past the shells of shops and Roman baths, and see the remains of the Odeon, Fountain of Trajan and Temple of Hadrian. Keep your camera ready, too, for two of the most celebrated landmarks: the Library of Celsus and the Great Theatre, a 25,000-seater stadium where spectators once gathered to hear the teachings of St Paul.
Continue to the nearby site of the Temple of Artemis, built in around 550 BC and one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. See the restored column that marks the site and hear how the temple was rebuilt three times before its destruction in 401 AD.
Then, visit Şirince, a pretty hill village perched above Ephesus. This former Greek settlement is known for its wine and crafts, and offers a charming glimpse into rural Turkish life. Stroll the cobbled lanes past food and craft stalls, and sample some of the village's famous fruit wine at a winery.
When the time comes, return to Kusadasi where your tour ends with a drop-off at the cruise port.

We had a wonderful tour that included Ephesus and Sirince and the Temple of Artemis. Our tour guide Begu was great and provided a very entertaining description of the sights in Ephesus, lots of information but not boring. We saw a coffee making demo and rug making demo then had a delicious lunch. This was our first time in Turkey and we thoroughly enjoyed it thanks to Begu.
One of the best tours I have done with our own private guide and a large mini bus to takeus on the trip. Ephesus was outstanding and the visit to the hill top village was well worth the drive. We did go to a government sponsored carpet factory traniing women in weaving. We could have missed it out but at least there was no hard selling. There was only my daughter and myself on the excursion. Well worth the money and a delight.
Our guide was great. We had a great day in a village.
Our guide were amazing. Great place to visit. We enjoyed this more than Pompeii.
Fantastic. Great guide. Ephesus is a must in any bodies travels.
Amazing!!! Picked up on the dock by Metin sorry if I miss spelled. Wonderful man. Extremely knowledgeable and fun! We drove through Kusadasi first to get an overview of the city and onto Ephesus. Truely amazing! So hard to believe the building that was done so long ago. Stunning. It was our favorite ruin. Just in awe the entire time. It started pouring, I mean pouring rain so we waited until it stopped and continued. No hurry, which was very nice. Metin was very easy going and fun to tour with. He took us to a leather factory, my niece bought a jacket, beautiful. Went to the Temple of Artemis, not much left there but was amazing at one time. Back to Kusadasi. We were asked if we wanted to extend the tour longer and have dinner in town but some of our tour party declined. Would have loved to! What an adventure! Thank you Metin, we had an amazing time!
