About this activity
Meet your guide in the morning at your prearranged location. Visit the Royal Alcázares, the oldest in-use royal palace in Europe, full of treasures from different periods of Seville's history, from the Roman to the Muslim. You'll see the Mudejar Palace of Peter the First, the Gothic palace or admire the renaissance touches. Stroll through the 16th century gardens where Game of Thrones was filmed. This part of the tour is approximately 1 hour.
Continue with the experience in the old Jewish quarter, known today as Santa Cruz, with its cobbled streets and hidden corners, its famous characters like Carmen or Don Juan Tenorio, as well as the beautiful Susona legend and the massacres of 1391. This part of the tour lasts approximately one hour. Later, as you walk to the Spanish square, you can ask the guide for some tips about discovering Seville.
Approximately 1 hour in duration.
Be astonished by the immense Plaza de España, or Spanish Square, where some Star Wars shots were filmed. This is a splendid area to take some photos, or relax around the wonderful Maria Luisa park, a romantic park inspired by the gardens of Alhambra and Royal Alcazares of Seville. If you wish, you can rent a 4-seater bike, a little boat or a horse carriage, as well as get an insider tip from your guide on where to have lunch or grab a tapa or two (we usually take 1 hour for the lunch and it is included in the time of the tour).
Approximately 1 hour in duration plus 1 hour lunch.
.
After lunch, reconvene with your guide for the next 3-hour part of the tour. Explore the Seville Cathedral, the largest Gothic temple in the world, with its famous bell tower, La Giralda, which has a few copies in America, one being in Kansas City. This is a minaret part of the 12th century mosque. Visit the tomb of Christopher Columbus and climb the tower, if you wish, for some great views of the city. Approximately 1 hour.
Discover the bank of the Guadalquivir River and listen to the Seville harbor stories of the monopoly trade with “new lands” in America, the products, the slaves, the sailors and the prostitutes. Approximately 1 hour.
If you like, look at the exteriors of the Bull Ring and discover the origins of bullfighting. Along the riverside, you can take some nice photos from the Gold tower, a 12th century Muslim tower.
Cross the Triana Bridge and feel the atmosphere of this quarter with its colorful ceramic decorated houses. It's a place full of surprises where in, some corners, flamenco just happens. Visit the old market to buy some cured Iberian ham, cheese, wine or some oysters with champagne. Approximately 1-hour.
If you wish, at tour's end, you can be lead to the river boats to have a nice, relaxing time or be given suggestions on spending the rest of your holiday in Seville or Andalucia.
