Private Day Tour: Ramble in Former French Concession of Shanghai

The tour begins at the Okura Garden Hotel on Huaihai Road, initially it was the old French Club built in 1926. The splendid art deco building and its elegant surroundings still encapsulates the glamor of old Shanghai even today.

From here, you will walk down Huaihai Road to the Cathay Theatre. It is a splendid art deco cinema built in 1930. You will visit here and learn about its important role in China's 1930s Golden Age of film.

Your guide will help you know the architectural highlights as you stroll in the streets of the old French Concession. You'll see how trendy boutiques and restaurants have transformed this historic area. Admire classic old buildings and the homes of famous Shanghaiites as you amble down Sinan Road.

Lunch in a local restaurant and you will taste some original shanghai food.

In the afternoon you will explore the Former Residence of Sun Yat-Sen, the European-style home where the founding father of modern China lived from 1918 to 1925. Then you will take a short stroll to the Fuxing Park, a European-style park where locals sing, dance, and practice Chinese arts and crafts under shady sycamores.

At last, the driver will take you to the Tianzifang complex where gather trendy eateries, high-fashion boutiques, and galleries. The cosmopolitan and vibrant atmosphere here makes it an excellent spot to end the tour in French Concession.

From here, you'll drive back to your hotel, arriving at around 5pm.
