I visited with my son. It was awesome. Absolutely stunning performances. Online ticket purchase through VIATOR was a breez.
A truly spectacular show not to be missed. Well worth the 30 min cab ride (or take the Metro) from centre of Shanghai. The motor-cycle finale is the most amazing feat of precision and daring I have ever seen.
Shanghai Circus World is a unique experience. Its a cross between a Cirque de Soleil show and an acrobatics show. With a little bit of the Beijing Opening Ceremony of the Olympics tossed in. I saw many people take a tour to get here, but I'm not sure why. Its located next to the metro station called Shanghai Circus station and you just enter with your ticket. Or if you want you can take a taxi or DiDi Uber in China. The acts in the show were amazing. Fun to watch and entertaining for the whole family. Although its not a circus, so little kids might be bored. Halfway through the show they have a 10 minute intermission. The show features live music and performer. I would NOT recommend getting the VIP seats. I was in section A lower and four rows from the front. I could see the sweat on the performers. Tickets are not assigned ahead of time, so arrive about 30-45 minutes early to get good seats ask for close seats if possible. As you enter they have snack stands with chocolate/candy, popcorn, soda, beer, water. As you leave they have some souvenirs. There are some glaring issues with Shanghai Circus. Its touted as multimillion dollar tourist attraction. The best part were the performers. The sets they use were old and dated, costumes were dirty, seats were uncomfortable, bathrooms need improvements, and the entrance is nothing special. Its not like going to a theater in New York or San Francisco where they have a grand lobby, nice bar, well maintained seats, and new outfits for the performers. With that said, I still highly recommend Shanghai Circus as a must see when your in Shanghai.
Really great show, had good view from the seats we booked tier4, the cheaper seats, is something to put on your to see list while in Shanghai
A beautiful show well worth a visit. The venue is only small so don't waste money on expensive tickets. We paid for the cheapest available on Viator and had a great view. It is easy to get to the circus by the Metro or we paid 40 yuan approx. 5 at the time for a taxi from the Bund. We arrived early to collect our tickets from the box office and then ate at the Mall 5 minuets down the road. The same tickets can be purchased at the venue for 150 yuan if you don't want to commit to a time before your visit.
This was a really impressive show. It was amazing and enjoyable, a highlight for our group. Easy to travel there using the metro and as others have said any tier allows great visibility. We used tier 3.
