Pass By: Phuket Town, Unnamed Road, ตำบล ตลาดเหนือ อำเภอเมืองภูเก็ต ภูเก็ต 83000, Thailand

Ride off road through lush countryside in the interior of Phuket and let green trees and black lakes replace the beige sand and blue sea for a few hours. In the interior of Phuket you can find jungle-clad hills, grazing cows and their subsequent paths made to water sources. Hit the dirt trails by bicycle for a cross-country ride through green grasses, shaded woods and around peaceful lakes.

Starting from the SpiceRoads office we warm up with a short ride on tarmac to get to the start of our off road. This is on a busy road but there is a wide shoulder. Our first dirt section is flat but soon the climbing will start as we ride up an old forestry fire road through jungle. We gain 200 m in just over 2 kms, so take your time on this ascent. Once at the summit amidst a rubber plantation we have 6 kms of downhill that varies in technicality, with some rocks and ruts thrown in to keep you alert. We exit the jungle and enter some fields and a teak plantation. We end by cycling around Bang Neaw Dam on a semi paved road as many potholes have formed. The reservoir is fed by streams and we can take a short walk to see a small waterfall. Finish at our office after 21 km of fun cross-country trails that have you climbing a total of 400 m.
