Firstly, you will also visit Penang Hill where you will ride a funicular train to its peak at 833m above sea level to enjoy a spectacular panoramic view of Georgetown and mainland Butterworth. Colonial bungalows can be found around this hill due to the British preferring to stay in a cooler climate compared to the hot and humid environment in the city.

Stop At: Reclining Buddha Wat Chaiyamangalaram, 17, Lorong Burma, George Town, Penang Island Malaysia
After that, visit the Wat Chayamangkalaram Temple where the 4th longest Reclining Buddha Statue is found. Right across the road you may also visit the Dhammikarama Burmese Temple which holds the a Buddha statue standing at 8.2 meters, making it the tallest in Malaysia. The existence of these two temples is due to the early settlement of the Thai and Burmese community in the early 1800s.

The last community jetties, the Peng Aun and the Cap3 Snaeh3 Kio2, were only established in the 1960's. Each of the clan jetties has a small shrine to pay homage to the sea deities. Chew Jetty is the only clan jetty left that continues to have observe the once a year annual worship of its Temple Deity and the Jade Emperor (Thnee Kong, or "god of the skies")
