About this activity
Visit: River Safari, 80 Mandai Lake Road Singapore Zoological Gardens, Singapore 729826 Singapore
Take a leisurely stroll and meander through the park on an exploratory river adventure of the Mississippi, Congo, Nile, Ganges, Mekong and Yangtze rivers. With the pristine Upper Seletar Reservoir as a backdrop, River Safari is also home to the Giant Panda Forest, Squirrel Monkey Forest and the enchanting Amazon Flooded Forest.
Venture through the Mississippi River and get a rare inside-look at the home of the beavers. Go nose-to-snout with the rare Mississippi paddlefish and primitive alligator gar. As you travel down to the Congo River, stop and marvel at the world's largest freshwater puffer fish.
From one African river to another, flow down to the River Nile where the sharp-toothed tigerfish and the many-finned birchir reside. When you find yourself at the temple facade by the Ganges River, watch out for the crocodilian Indian gharial resting by the sandy shore. Here, you’ll also see the peculiar-looking softshell turtle and the goonch catfish.
Next, make your way down to the Yangtze River, home of the world’s largest amphibian – the giant salamander. Just around the corner, enter the Giant Panda Forest, home of Kai Kai and Jia Jia. Observe these adorable envoys from China as they roam around their naturalistic habitat. Spot the red panda that share this remarkable climate-controlled biodome.
After all that excitement, entice your taste buds at our specially-designed thematic restaurant. Tuck in to delectable Szechuan cuisine and panda-themed bites at the Mama Panda Kitchen, right by the Giant Panda Forest. Visit the House of Kai Kai & Jia Jia to stock up on giant panda-inspired memorabilia and complete your adventure by taking home treasured memories of the River Safari with you from our unique underwater-themed retail shop, the River Safari Shop.

River Safari is great on its own. Getting the ticket is annoying, because you have to get it from the zoo instead of the River Safari. Not a huge deal unless you missed that part and have two cranky children.
The River Safari was a nice day out. Enjoyed the exhibits and the Amazon river quest ride. Especially loved the Panda! There is also another small cruise around the lake which is complimentary. I did not receive the collection note from the supplier in my email so I called the number locally when I reached Singapore. They were very cooperative and emailed it to me. Once you get to the park you can just scan the collection note in a machine and get your tickets. All very convenient.
