Vatnajokull Small Group Glacier Hike From Skaftafell

Your glacier adventure starts with a short scenic ride along the beautiful mountains of Skaftafell national park towards the outlet glacier you will be hiking on. Once you arrive as close as possible to the glacier your certified glacier guide will help you put your gear on. From there on you, your guide and the small group of fellow hikers will be making your way up towards the icefall of the glacier. On the way you can expect to see big crevasses, moulins and small ice-caves. Along the way your guide will be sharing interesting information about glaciers and their formations. Reaching the icefall will be one of the highlights of the tour. Along the way we will make few stops on ideal places for taking photographs. After we strengthened ourselves we´ll be making our way back to the bus. The total time spent on the glacier will be around 3 hours. This adventure does provide an extensive glacier experience with plenty of photo opportunities, and is ideal for for those making their way to the Skaftafell area.
