Pros: Took all the hard work out of arranging our own excursion. Collected us in a minibus outside our hotel and took us to the boat. Plenty of space on boat. Gave suggestions about what to do on the island we went on the chairlift in Anacapri which I recommend, then took the funicular from Capri town to the port. Nice captain, expertly navigated around Capri and positioned the boat well for photo opportunities. Cons: Okay if you want to very briefly see Capri, but there is a lot to see there. The public transport has long queues, so you need to allow a lot of time unless you pay for a private taxi legally they must all charge a flat rate of 25-ish Euros for a ride. You need longer on the island if you really want to feel like you've 'done' Capri. We didn't eat during the tour, and definitely would have been pressed for time if we wanted to do the activities and have a relaxed lunch. Note: The boat itself cannot go into the Blue Grotto. You have to pay for a separate tour to take you right into the grotto in smaller boats. You do have the option to pay for this add-on through a third party company while touring around the island, but our captain strongly advised against it because there are long queues. Just be aware the green/white grottos that the boat does visit are not cave systems, just patches of coloured water in the ocean. No one has to pay a fee to see them. They are not as impressive as the blue grotto.
