This is a great way to get to Vesuviius and Pompei versus public transportation. The tour included only the bus ride and the guide for Pompei. There are additional charges if you want to walk to the summit of Vesuvius the guide said it was a 20 minute walk, but it would only be that if you are in extremely good shape. I was a bit frustrating to stand in line for everyone to get tickets for Pompei. As all on the tour are going, I think it would be better to just include this in the price of the tour. Also, we stopped at a reasonable place outside of Pompei for lunch. The food was good, but there seemed to be different options for different groups coming in. I personally would have preferred a small salad option first instead of the desert. The portions were HUGE! Also, everyone ate the lunch, so I think it would make sense to have this included in the price of the tour. One last comment on the guide. She did a wonderful job, but the tour was in both English and German. I know there were things that were not translated for both languages, so I feel that perhaps we missed out on some details.
