My family and I went on this tour. Pompeii was great, but rushed. We were told that we couldn't stop at the souvenir shops because we had to go to a restaurant for lunch and that the same souvenirs would be at the tHerculaneum. This was not the case. There were hardly any souvenirs offered at the Herculaneum and my kids left very disappointed. In regards to the restaurant, it was 14 euro each and for those who brought lunch, they felt awkward. It would better serve this tour to offer "free time" between the two sites at Pompeii where people can choose for themselves where they want to eat and not be forced into what was offered, as well as giving time to explore the souvenirs offered. Overall it was nice to see, but the tour could've been much better in that regard.
Great tour! Very crowded in Pompeii... but very interesting. Loved Herculaneum! Smaller and less crowded, but something you shouldn't miss.
Of course it's worth seeing both locations. If you are in your healthy 40s and younger, I don't recommend this tour for you. I'm 29 and the not so mobile set the pace of the tour. My husband and I ran off a couple times so we could see more because we were missing so much. Try find smaller tour.
very good trip...both sites quite interesting and guide was good and interesting. Not the fault of the tour, but Pompeii was packed but we managed to negotiate and have a good time.
Due to a lot of restoration work we were unable to see major parts of Pompeii but a visit to Herculaneum certainly made up for it. Even in extreme heat this tour was excellent.
