We really enjoyed this tour. Our two boys 7 and 10 especially liked the commentaries and learning lots of interesting things on this tour. We completely geeked out on the science bit.
I had heard lots about Viator but in this case, after paying online, I was given the details of the tour company to then complete the booking myself. I would have been better just dealing with the company directly as I usually do because if a company proves difficult or unresponsive as this company did I would have simply spent my money elsewhere. Unfortunately, Viator do things the other way around and you're lumbered. I cannot comment on the actual tour because they never showed up for the agreed pick-up and the number I was given to call 'at any time' didn't work. The reviews for this tour initially read very positively but when I checked again after my experience I noticed nothing has been submitted for the past 5 months - which has me curious. It has now been 5 days since my supposed tour date but I have heard nothing back from Viator, apart from an automated response to one of my messages. This was far from the cheapest option for this tour locally not sure how that holds with Viator's price guarantee? and it certainly wasn't the best. After travelling for 6 months in 6 different countries, and my first time of using Viator, this was by far my poorest experience yet.
Nice trip with excellent guide
This tour was great! I'd recommend it for people that want to see something different and unusual. We enjoyed the star gazing as well. We actually found out that the moon faces the opposite direction in Australia than it does in the northern hemisphere. Dinner was ok and the people were nice at the country club. If I had it to do over i'd skip the dinner and just take the tour.
Great experience, definitely something you can experience in only a couple places! I recommend wearing long sleeves, pants and covered shoes. They do provide little torches as a light to guide your way through the park at night. The drive to the national park does include a windy road so something to consider before going on the tour if you get motion sickness. Our tour guide, Darren, was a great tour guide and was very informative.
