About this activity
Your BridgeClimb experience starts at the Sydney Harbour Bridge Visitors Centre where you meet your guide, receive a comprehensive safety briefing and put on the provided BridgeSuit, a specially designed coverall worn over your clothing.
When you’re ready, follow your expert Climb Leader through a purpose-built tunnel that leads to the bridge. Securely clipped into a safety wire, start to climb the steady incline up the arches of the bridge, traversing catwalks and ladders all the way to the 440-foot (134-meter) summit. At the top, stop to admire panoramic views of Sydney and its surroundings. To the east you can see the sails of the Sydney Opera House and to the west the majestic Blue Mountains are visible in the distance (on a clear day).
Throughout your tour, you can hear your guide via provided headsets. Listen to informative commentary and fun stories about the history of Sydney and the bridge and receive plenty of encouragement during your climb. Your guide stops at scenic points along the way so that you can take in the sights.
The 3.5-hour BridgeClimb is suitable for people with a moderate level of fitness. The 2.5-hour Express Climb proceeds at a faster pace with fewer stops. The 1.5-hour Sampler Climb goes to a halfway point inside the inner arch before returning to the ground. Select a VIVID Climb available during festival dates only.
After all tours, receive a complimentary group photo, commemorative certificate and BridgeClimb cap. Please see more details about each tour under Itinerary below.

Last minute booking on the day of the climb, ended with a night climb time slot. Worked out perfectly since we got some spectacular views of the city; and not as scary since everything was dark so can't tell how high we actually were! Our guide was very patient and knowledgeable, provided good history and background of the bridge. Definitely a must do when in Sydney!
Highly recommend! We took the late afternoon sunset walking tour! It far exceeded my expectations. We had an amazing guide. Very organized and impressive staff! I would do it again!
Really, really fun. Fiona and Ben were great. It's a lot of steps and I'm a pretty heavy guy and I was able to do it. Definitely a highlight of my trip. The cost made me second guess this but I am so glad I spent the money and did it. It's an unforgettable experience.
The Sydney BridgeClimb is an absolutely amazing experience! I am absolutely terrified of heights, but this was not scary (they have been operating for 21 years with no reported accidents). Our guide, Jasmine, was absolutely incredible. She felt like a friend, happy to answer questions and joke around. She told the group fascinating facts about the bridge's history. I was first in the line, so I was able to talk to her more than the average climber. If you're in Sydney, do this. It's a bit pricey, but worth every penny.
Great experience and definitely worth it. They totally equip you with all of the necessities and have a great setup.
Sydney BridgeClimb was my favorite experience while on vacation in Sydney! My husband and I did a Twilight climb (we did 3:15pm but you can choose other times as well), which meant we got to enjoy incredible views of the city during the day, see the sunset with its cotton candy colored skies, and finished off with spectacular views of the city lit up at night. The climb was not too difficult at all, with a training portion ahead to prepare your for the four ladders up and four ladders back down. You are very securely attached the entire time! We went in July so it was quite windy, but the gear keeps you warm enough! Our Climb leader was fantastic! Funny, knowledgeable, and quickly learned all our names to make the experience more personal. The experience is not cheap, but for us it was worth it for a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Overall, I highly recommend this experience and would definitely do it all over again. Cheers!
We took our 15 year old and we all loved it! The process is so organized and the tour guide was fun, lively. This is not a strenuous hike and for fit, active people that an bend their knees and backs easily, it's a good climb. Safety was outstanding. This tour is on the pricey side but for the memory and the view, I think you have to do it while in Sydney!
Good trip, perfect weather and an excellent guide. Rather pricey, but good fun and had to be done. Definately worth doing
This is one of the best ways to see Sydney! The views are stunning and the whole experience is so well organized.
Wow, what an experience. A very professional outfit who take care of you from the start of the process with comprehensive preparation, right through to the end as you look in awe at a photo of yourself up there. When you stand at the very apex of the bridge with Sydney harbour laid out before you’ll be glad you took the plunge, even with the wind whipping through you. Not the cheapest to spend a few hours but well worth it.
You cannot go to Sydney for 17+ miles and not climb the Sydney Bridge - age does not matter, fear of high does not matter. The guides are exceptionally great at what they do and you are safer on the bridge than driving in your car. Take your time and climb at your own space. I did the sunset tour and that is amazing because you get to see the whole city in its glory of night light along with the Sydney Bridge. Excellent history information from the guide and he takes pictures along the climb. Do not be cheap, purchase at least one or two of your pictures taken by the guide while on the tour- you will be surprised at the amazing scenery.
Climbing the Sydney Harbor Bridge is one of those items that appears on many bucket lists, as it had on ours for a few years. However, as age has been creeping up (my wife and I are now 65) and our fitness level isn't what it used to be, we thought this might have passed us by. Not so! The climb isn't nearly as strenuous as we feared, and the pace is such that we would gladly so it again. Our climb had the added bonus of a proposal at the top - the young gentleman dropping on one knee to ask for his partner's hand. How can you top that?
What can I say absolutely fantastic. Worth every penny. What a experience. A must if you are visiting Sydney.
If you travel to Sydney this is a must do event. Our guide was excellent. The tour is efficient and well run. Spectacular views of the city.
Great experience, great instructors and overall the best thing ever! Highly recommended to anyone visiting Sydney
Amazing experience, was apprehensive before going but enjoyed every minute once there and felt safe with tour guide
I was told that I must do this and I'm so glad I did. If you are worried that this is too hard, don't worry. There are a lot of steps, but they are not steep steps, so most of the time, it just feels like you are walking. There are four flights of narrow steps (walking up and then down a steep ladder). But you practice prior to the start of the climb so you are comfortable. That will be the most challenging part, but so very worth it! The guides are awesome and it's very safe.
This was a must do!! I have an extreme fear of heights and our guide Fergus was so accommodating. He was knowledgeable and helped ease my fear of heights. So glad I did this.
Such a surprising and awesome experience!
See Sydney as you only can from the Bridge. Exquisite views, feels plenty safe with group tour and equipment and safety training. Do not hesitate to go!
This tour does't have to be the length of time that it is. During vacation I like to consume alcohol and we we're breathalyzed before ascending. Luckily I was below the legal limit. Then I was not allowed to take my camera up. The monkey suit you're forced to wear has many attachments to prevent you from dropping anything into the working bridge (logical) but still they don't allow you to attach anything personal other than your sunglasses. If they attachments are on this suit, you should be allowed to take cameras up but instead they make plenty of money from selling you photos. The tour guide was fine, but i'd much rather hear history of the bridge/Sydney vs. the famous folks you've met on other tours. For the amount of money we paid between the entry fee plus photos, I think it's way overpriced.
one of the excellent highlights for all my overseas trips!
