This experience was a highlight of our trip to Sidney. It's not just a boat ride, it's a trip into the past on a magnificently restored sailing ship. The James Craig is operated by a non-profit and the all-volunteer crew brings history alive, inviting guests to help raise and lower the sails and even climb the masts. From the deck, the views are magnificent. Below decks, one can explore the restored captain's and crew quarters and use the (thankfully) modern toilets. In between enjoying the morning tea, ample lunch and afternoon tea., guests can join in a sea-shanty sing-along, learn to make a Turk's head bracelet and more, or simply lean back and enjoy their day at sea.
The crew of volunteers were amazing, very friendly and professional. The crew encouraged the guests to participate in a range of activities. I would definitely recommend it to anyone who loves history. Sydney Harbour is a special place everyday, but on this ship you feel like you go back in time.
This was one of the highlights of our time in Australia. We were offered Dramamine, but didn't think we'd need, it so we passed. Next time we'll take it! The crew was amazing and the musicians added to the atmosphere. Passengers could participate as little or as much in the ship's activities as they wanted.
Fantastic, Highly recommended. First class all the way. Would not think twice about doing this again.
