Green reef at Laomei is also a popular attraction of north coast of Taiwan. There will covered by green reef every April and May. It's a seasonal hot spot travelers love to visit.
***Reminder: Green Reef at Laomei is a seasonal spot. If not traveling in the right season, the route will alternate to visit Elephant Trunk Rock.

Because of the ocean water and wind erosion, there are much unique natural landscape attracting people to go here. The ocean water erosion makes the candle shaped rock. While the wave splashes it, you can see the power of nature. As for the wind erosion, never skip the Queen’s Head. Through the 30 –year erosion, Queen’s Head becomes more and more slender. Remember to have a glimpse of it, or it may be vanished in the future because of erosion.

Jiufen is a unique immigrant isolated village in the mountains in Qing dynasty. When Taiwan was under Japanese rule, there was a gold rush in Jiufen. This place is also famous for taro ball, fish ball, and rice cake. If tourists are tired after walking so long, you can rest in the tea house to taste the delicacies of Jiufen. Jiufen becomes famous after Hou Hsiao-hsien's A City of Sadness movie which narrates a Taiwanese story in Jiufen.

The sky lantern is also called Kongming lantern, which is used for praying for safety, love, and career now. Tourists can write your wishes on the lantern and However, it was used for informing others that this village is safe before. We will release the sky lantern on the train track, which is very nostalgic. After releasing sky lantern in Pingxi, you can also get to the Shifen Old Street to buy the cold marble soft drink in summer. And if tourists want to see the sky full of lanterns and you can go to Pingxi on Lantern Festival.

Yes! I loved this tour! I know those off the beaten path trips. I think this tour needs to be marketed so more people can know about it. My tour guide Frank was awesome.
