Unique experience under a star lit sky. We saw two green sea turtles lay eggs. It was a bit treacherous getting to the beach and was a bit of a hike. Photos are allowed but without flash or any light. The guide had a red light to ensure it would not disorientate the turtles. Be ready to sit quietly on the beach for a while. Bring water and wear good shoes!
We had an incredible and lucky night saw 2 green pacific adults and then found a nest that had been decimated by some predator. Our quide dug out the remaining nest to discover 2 live babies which we escorted to the sea. Watching their struggle and determination to reach the sea was incredible.
Amazing trip! We have seen one turtle nesting.
We were there at the end of the turtle season so only got to see one turtle but she was amazing! Be sure to check that you are going at a time that is good to see turtles.
It was amazing. I will never forget watching the experts take a baby pacific turtle from the nest. He wasn't moving at first and the experts thought he may be blind. But after some coaching they got him to follow the trail the created while the entire group followed him on! It was spectacular.
